i found a kombie and not knowing what is what have turned to the people who do ...... it looks about 1960 - 70 model ,what size engine would it have or what size did they start at .looks like a type 1 beetle engine only had a quick look as it is in a resticted area..thanks guys

There's a huge difference between 1960 and 1970 models. Anything with the 'splitscreen' ie. two windscreens, was produced 1967 or earlier (rule of thumb). Sought after, but even more difficult to restore than a 1968+ 'bay window' model.

All kombi's 1960-70 had the upright motor, up to 1600cc.

as i said was quick look but i think the winscreen was one piece .to get back to it i`m gonna have to go through a long process ..........thanks

if it had a beetle (upright motor) then it would make it a 68-72 model kombi (if it had the full windscreen)
