man i had intentions of tearing everything and anything known to man off those cars...
nuts, bolts, dash, sun visors....but i turned up with no tools....:cry
i ended up getting an old beetle mirror...because i need the threaded stem for my custom harley mirrors...i wish i did bring the tools though...the cars were quite bountiful...

Where is this pick and payless place??

Alex Holzl - March 8th, 2004 at 10:50 AM

pick and payless is a huge wrecking yard and you go out into a feild and find the car you want and take wat you can get off it... and you pay at the gates.. its petty good but not much vw stuff...

Its up near Blacktown, depending on what you are after and what they have in the at week (or so) is whether you are successfull. I went there two weeks ago after a front beam for the bug, and they didn't have a ball joint one, this wekeend just gone I went looking for a gearbox (don't ask) and I found a ball joint front end. Got it and the discs attached. Just had to rip it off myself. Saw a few bugs various years, a few fastbacks and last time saw a couple of kombis, but all bay windows. If you go out there, ask a price for stuff before you bring it back to the front counter, take your own tools and its $2 to enter.
