You want white walls?
BUGBOY - March 24th, 2004 at 07:46 PM

Having a white wall demo done on my car at the Jamboree this weekend and if your interested you can have your car done on the day.
Just ask Don on the day but you might want to get in early!
If he`s flooded with requests just ask for a card and he`ll come to you.
See you there!

Cheers

PS: I'll be going to the Jmabo, do ya rekon you could bring along a dodgy panel for me to practise my welding on? :)

robnjo - March 25th, 2004 at 09:33 PM

How long do they last?

Stealth - March 25th, 2004 at 09:43 PM

they last until you scrape them on a gutter, if you are careful they last forever :thumb

robnjo - March 25th, 2004 at 10:35 PM

got some atlas but scared to put them on

oval TOFU - March 26th, 2004 at 11:50 AM

why are ya scared of the atlas ones?

BUGBOY - March 26th, 2004 at 07:55 PM

Atlas white walls cut into the side walls of your tyres and this I feel would not be a safe thing to happen.
Has anyone seen this before?

oval TOFU - March 26th, 2004 at 07:56 PM

Is that simply from rubbing that they cut into the side wall?

BUGBOY - March 26th, 2004 at 08:04 PM

I think they are to hard and the slowy cut a groove into the side wall of the tyre.
This has always put me off using them.

Have seen it on a few cars fitted with them.
really bad on Michelin tyres as they have a very soft side wall and thin.

kustomkool - March 26th, 2004 at 08:19 PM

I got atlas on stock rims but if I was runnin 5 spokes or yummy rivieras 60s style thin lines look far better.Don also does em in red walls or blue walls.Nathan I have heard of altlas tyres doing it to retread tyres .

perhaps there is less of a chance of the Atlas's cutting with newer radial tyres than the XZX's?

kustomkool - March 27th, 2004 at 12:21 PM

Atlas whitewalls are available for a 130 a set from antique tyre supplies 0394584433

Hi,

Has anyone got any contact details for "Don" that does the paint/etched on whitewalls.

Secondly does anyone know of someone in Perth that does the whitewalls. I am having no luck in sourcing someone. I can get the Atlas ones but these would not look right on a 70 model car.
