Over 200 emails with Viruses received on Thursday
68AutoBug - March 28th, 2004 at 09:39 PM

I didn't Use My computer on thursday, so it was a bit of a shock after connecting to the internet on friday, when I see 150 emails all with attachments, sent from different addresses mostly in the US..
My Nortons professional anti virus had deleted the attachments, but they also had a website address to view the attachment [all websites had sameaddresses] .

Then on Saturday, I checked My Yahoo mailbox, and I had 75 more emails with virus attachments with the same website address to view the attachment [with virus] in My BULK yahoo folder. I normally just delete these as spam, but seeing the large number I decided to have a look... there in the middle was an email with photo from My brother in law...
with no virus...
So, Be wary of attachments , if You don't run the latest in anti virus software. Mine updates automatically each day and scans My hard drive every Friday night at 8pm...
All these attachments had been deleted by Yahoo...
So, even opening an email with attachment from someone You know can give You a Virus, as Your friend May NOT have sent the email... It may have come from someone else's address book... BE CAREFUL ..

My Son tells Me that I receive more viruses than anyone else in His ISP... I usually receive 1-3 per day... others receive none... Lee

Does this mean that I am Virus Prone ?????

Before, I was SPAM Prone, receiving up to 100 SPAMS per Day... before I changed My ISP....

And ALL the pop ups have disappeared too....

Well, No pop ups....& No SPAM.... just viruses....

i use trend micro PC cillen......which comes free with most new mainboards in the free software package. hotmail itself will usually delete malicious attachments itself.
