Well.....its taken a while but Richard H (V Force) just called and said he has the blue slip in his hand.
Daisy is a 1982 2L automatic air cooled micro bus - a suth efrican impurt.
I bought it off Richard back in May with no interior and a sorry motor. It has been resprayed in 2 pak (base white and white with yellow tinter on
the bottom)
I even picked up a set of powder coated cookie cutters for it. (see how long before the first gutter graze!)
I have already torn the new trim boards when i folded the rear seat down
oh well - got a caravelle seat for the rear. Kids love the arm rests. Got the towell rack for the rear window, even has cruise control! :o
Still have to adjust the accelerator cable. Bit of a 2 stage thing (pedal to transmission to carbs) need to shorten stage 1 so as it kicks down a bit
quicker.
Motor has been fully rebuilt with a CB Torquemaster cam, rebuilt heads (3 angle, new valves etc etc) new jugs and pistons and powder coated tin. Oh it
looks real purdy! Missus just dont understand why i am driving around with the engine cover off
Any way i am happy - will try and post some piccies soon. Or i will do a thing in members rides.
Im excited!:P:P
Congratulations
Congrats Blue on the new ride. Don't worry about the missis mate as mine can't figure why I like driving around with a garden load of mud
all over mine.
Can't wait to see some pics - keep us posted on the improvements.
Whoo Hoo
i have new wnumber plates and a sticker.
Not that i have been driving Daisy on the road or anything
I saw this bus at Richards last weekend. Wade was just doing something with the engine. She's a nice machine or 'wedge' as their
commonly known.
Steve
Congratulations!!
Do you get comments about 'Driving Miss Daisy' much??
I get 'Dr Livingston I presume', which was part of the intention of the name for my sqback among other things
