Hi Guys,

As a last hoorah for Issue#1, I will be selling what is probably the last two boxes of the magazine left in Australia at the Nationals.

Look for the banner at the show on the Sunday. I will also be wandering around the pits at the drags on Saturday.

Cruzin in a Golf - April 2nd, 2004 at 09:32 AM

Quote:
originated from VWMA website Ross Skyring 1962 Bus

When opportunity knocks, especially when talking Volkswagens, always answer the door. Ross Skyring did just that when he bought this 1962 Yukon yellow standard 11 window bus he saw resting under a tree in Roma southwest Queensland. For the poultry sum of $1000 Ross landed a straight and complete bus, and not even the haggling he received from friends and family alike about wasting good money on VWs, could deter him from finishing his dream of owning and driving a splittie.
Dreams sometimes do come true.

Bit unsure what a poultry sum is, but i do know what a paltry sum is!!! might want to change that so people dont chicken out of buying your magazine!!!

57kombi - April 2nd, 2004 at 11:05 AM

It also states " even the haggling he recieved from friends and family"

I thought haggling was something you did when you disputed a price, you haggle with the seller to get a better price.
Also in the first issue, the story of the jewellers splitty states that it was imported in 1967, yet it has aussie spec vents above the swage line at the rear????, so it was made here.

I know, just being pedantic.

Good Mag otherwise.
Cheers
Dave

Thank you to all the English scholars - the errors have been repaired. I need to have my proof reader (wife) also check web pages.

ps By the way Dave, be careful how you spell 'received' - it's a bit tricky.

Nice to see a Klub VW Byron Bay members bug in this issue.
Congrats to Maya for getting the oportunity to have her car in the next mag.
Since that pic was taken she has updated to a very nice new black turbo model.... even nicer than the white one.
You go girl!!
