As i found out 135's are hard to get unless you want to pay ALOT of money. As my car is a cruiser and not a race car i settled on some Nantang's .
okay not exactly michelins but for $80 a pop i'm not over worried. Do look the biz aswell! If your interested U2U me .
Dan
Adam, 135's are most famously made by Michelin, and maybe the store you went to aren't Michelin suppliers. If you ring around Sydney or whatever,
you'll be able to get em for less than $90 a tyre.
Alternatively, I am thinking about Continental 145's, which are Smart Car tyres, and pretty low profile, dropping it down just a little more.. Price
wise, no idea, but I would think the same area..
I bought some 145 continentals a coupla months back there a really nice tyre but the're $145 ea, I've heard michellin arn't bringing in 135s and 145s any more but they are doin 125s I got some for $90ea, you could also try Firestone im pretty sure they do a 125 and a 135 not sure on price tho, hope this helps!
whats the benefit of the 145continentals over the other 135 if amy, also what kinda ride/ steering is given by the 125? should i go the 125 before the
145 if $$ wasnt a worry?
also what size for the back? 185/95???
Dunno about the Continentals, I would say they would be a nice ride.. Micheys are, but after all, they are 135's.. Thats 13.5cms of pumping road
hugging grip.. i.e. not much, so slow for those sweeping bends. The 145's are a lower profile as well as designed for a newer car.
As for the back, mate what is on it! The good ol' 165's is ideal. That Beetle had a good tyre package.. As far as 165's are concerned, Hankook for
cheap and easy access..
nothin wrong with the backs, just askin the question hehe
ill get the 135 or 145 as the front tread wont pass rego i dont think..... anyhoo thanks for the input
cheers

This is the worst thing about doing a VW Bloody Tyres....$163 for firestone 135's at antiqure tyre centre. 135's michi's are on back order in the
states, till who knows when, so If you find some, get them....
N!
there is plenty in macartur area who deal in michelin (just looking in the phone book) or you may try there web site http://www.michelin.com.au just a thought
I think you'll find Nankang have taken over the 135 business from Michelin. Michelin sold all the manufacturing gear to Nankang, 'cos let's face it, it aint a huge market these days. It's the same pattern and look for $80, but if you're planning to go racing on 135's, you got a surprise coming. They look great, and are fine for cruising, but really if you want to go fast and turn or stop, you'd be better off with more rubber touching the road.
with all whopping 1200cc's and id be lucky to have 20 of the 40hp ....... i wont be racing hehehe so yeh ill go the natang or whatever if i cant get em, ill ring around tomorrow
With the big block 1300 in our Beetle the Hankook 165's are just right.
I was asking about these 135 mx michos at a local tyre dealer and they rang michelin who said they will be back in stock as of the end of april,
we'll see what happens
