Hi All

Been ofered a late model beetle, 74, that boasts an even later motor presumably 76. Is there any visual differences that can identify the motor as a later one or do I have to get the engine number. If it is a 8mmstud later vw beetle 1600 what will the engine numbers begin with. Appreciate the info urgently

I think yhe only visual difference with the latest motors os the twin heat riser tubes instead of the usual one.

Real late - say 79ish - in the states, had fuel injection

look at the oil line size in the case where the oil pump goes .my new case ( 75/6 has small holes ) :alien

Ring the dude up and get the engine number and post it here and later when you get a chance confirm that number yourself.
