Something funny / interesting gotta happened to some one!!
Neither funny nor interesting but personally i had a blast! Love the cruises over , the drags , the show and meeting up with somemore off the forum.
Someone , someday has to organise more overnight meetings though!
Dan

bought a 1300 for $100 will check compression ,seller said it was 12 volt to my mate . Thought that was a bit weird, get it home coil is 6volt so if
compression is ok will bolt straight in and we will be in the power league
with dannyboy.
And i loved Jays little sign :kiss
It was just to bad Frenzix wasnt there with his beetle it would have been cool to see that beetle again.

I did an 8.62 in 2nd gear (all the others were broken) with one flat tire and two plug leads off, but everyone was momentarily distracted or
something, and the frikken timing light failed!!
I can't believe no-one saw it!!!

I also saved four toddlers from being eaten by a stray grizzly bear. that was on saturday, sunday was nowhere near as boring. :thumb
Peter i saw you! You were the one on the track , on sat , in your car , did a 8.62 or something. Awesome mate! Shame about the timing lights eh

i really should mention that no grizzlies were harmed in the making of that post
hey everyone my name is daniel i am 16 and this is my third vw nats i have been to and i loved every minuite of it. I only had one problem with the
drag racing though, there was to many other cars ( non Vws) i thought it was ment to be the vw nationals
but anyways thats was my obly bitch it was a great weekend lots of great cars cant wait till i get my car
running for next year......
I had a great weekend, bought some bargains, especially the clock and tripmeter speedo for the yoot, and the baby bug tshirts and kombi kid bib for my niece off jay...am tired now though, huge weekend... Good to see a few guys from up Byron way and Gold Coast and Brissy :thumb
I suffered from dehydration from drooling lots, but other than that...
I hope you all had a good time
great nationals dave well organised!!! good to see different cars there this year!!!! lots i have never seen before!
drags where great!!! how boring it would of been to see more 20 second 1/4 miles i love the 8 second cars!!!!!!!!1
cheers
rhys:jesus

was on a deadline..... looked around picked up a frew things quick look at a few cars and i was off again....... biggest ive ever seen it in the 5 yrs
ive gone, should be there next yr ....
anyone else get any goodies at the swap... picked up a marchall nipple spotlight with the original marchal fog bulb in it for a tenner.... pretty good
i thought
little bit of pitting in the chrome and perfrect inside
My Baja and I have arrived home Safely. I believe Jay and Herbie are still in Albury somewhere having lunch.
Anyway thanks for a Good weekend.
First time in 12 years [maybe more] that I have ever actually gone to the nationals in a VW,, 300 kms each way.
Was a passenger in a 1965 original 1200 6 volt Beetle....
Went very well, sitting on 70 mph most of the time.... 8 of Us in 4 Beetles from the Upper Hunter came Down the Putty Road, and back via the
Freeway...
I thought the swap meet was excellent... probably the best I can remember.... although I didn't buy a lot as I don't really need anything to finish
My car... I was going to buy a spare wheel & tyre, but left it too late & missed out.. I didn't speak to anyone [apart from Dave who wasannouncing late in the afternoon..] I never seem to get around to looking at ALL the cars on Show... although I did have a look at many at random..
First time I didn't even OPEN My camera case... Now I wish I had taken some shots of great interiors & neat VW engines.. Saw the fellow with
the Mowhawk haircut trying to sell new parts... Looked too silly to buy parts from... You need to at least look normal- to sell anything... IMHO...
Didn't even buy a shirt & Mug this time, I'll double up next year... Enjoyed the day... and looking forward to next years.... VW Nationals...
Lee
Yeah I went to Swap meet cashed up, and the only thing I brought was a Sausage for lunch.
hahaha
I didn't see anything I needed, but there was some real bargains there.
I know some people scored very well.

"" how boring it would of been to see more 20 second 1/4 miles ""
Well Rhys when you get your licence nest year you can show us how fast you can go down the 1/4 .... I will be watching .
You tell him! I'd watch ANY dubs racing all day long! Did some racing in the UK and it was a blast. Saying that more people raced than watched , it
was something we all did as a bunch of idiot mates! Most of the cars were either 1300 / 1600's and a few 1641's and a couple of 1835's so racing
wasn't exactly neck breaking but real close and a good laugh! Have a bash at it , better than watching V8's!
Dan
yeah i think i might as well enter the drags with my ground stomping 39HP monster
Well impressed on our food run on saturday! Goes well!
dan
my favourite part of the day was pulling into KFC carpark and seeing all these smiling faces come up to greet me, thanks guys for the warm welcome and comments about my car, was really cool to meet u all, then the cruise to the nats with che castro, costa, danny and all the boys in some awesome dubs was really cool.
Meeting up early was the best thing. really love the cruises over. Hope to see you on the 22nd May for the cruise -in if you can make it!
Dan
Hi
I learnt a valuable lesson, don’t make a billet tow hook the week before going racing and also make sure you’re in the water before doing a
burnout.
1302Steve
Why what did you break?
Dan:o
Hi
A Quaiffe LSD output shaft. Its only the 2nd time my bug has not got me home, last time was CV and it was the 1st Nationals its missed.
1302Steve
Great day Dave.
Enjoyed catching up with others from here. Particularly Jay, Anthony & Jodie, and of course Mr Moore.
People I have spoken to &/or chatted to for ages but never had a face to put to it.
Only one complaint though...........not a country buggy in sight!
I'll remedy that myself next year........
Good to see you there Spook so you didnt have to drive the 64 wheeler
It must have been the billet tow hook Steve............"build it and they will come.....................and tow you"
I missed the show on Sunday (Dad's 60th) but the drags were good.
However I was pissed at the poor turn up from the VW crowd. It was pretty poor form to get less VW people there watching than there was when it was at
Oran Park.
Now we have a good track a proper quarter, starters that know what they are doing, announcers that don't talk like they were on the piss until 10
mins before the start and hardly anyone bothers to show up and support it.
A track hire is a risky proposition and it was pretty pissy that the major clubs didn't support Club VW with their presence.
You get a track built in there brother & I'll bring the train......
If I hadn't had to work Monday i would have stuck round for a tooheys or two, but they tend to frown on it nowdays......:o
hey guys i finally got back online.
it was great to meet up withh everyone, checking the cars out and scoreing free red bull
i brought a full length roof rack for a bay window with a LADDER !!!!!!! very kool it was too bad it didnt come with the steal thigo's to hold it
to the roof, so i har to tie it down :P
all in all a great day.
