An overnight meet
Dannyboy - April 11th, 2004 at 11:26 PM

Testing the ground here! So here it is ............

An aussieveedubbers forum users meet with overnight accomadation. Similar to the cruise-ins but able to make more of a day/night of it.

Using a coastal holiday park , ie chalets etc

Sat arvo - Hanging out ,catching up, freshen up . eat , watch hot vw vids , band /DJ , let your hairs down abit, party, leep around abit, party, fall over abit , party , make a fool of yourself , party! Crash out!

Sunday- get over Sat night , breaky , do something ( small show and shine whatever) , chat some more and go home.

I love the shows and reckon alot of people would rather O/N than drive alot of K's for a one day meet. It could be a romantic w'end away for you mushy types(kind of!) and abit of a piss up for those that want to make the most of not driving

At this stage all i'm trying to do is see if there is an interest. Forget where and when ( although it would be within a max 2-3hour drive either north or south of Syd)

The cost for all this fun and frolics and a nice place to stay i reckon we could get for about $70-80 a night.

This is the poll question.

Would you be interested in a overnight meet if it was going to cost $70-80 ? Please as many replies as poss!

Ta dan

:thumb sounds interesting,, but with my run of luck if i say yeah can do,, fate won't let me,, so i will play a bit of reverse karmic psychology by saying,, nup don't want to and can't get to one, in fact from now on i will just say I won't go to any future vw events at all! ;)

Least by making it a seperate forum event you don't have to go round any shows looking all shifty by asking complete strangers "hey do you know if deevo dingles or sparky hubcaps are around?",, or "yup I am a forum geek, can you tell me where all the other weirdos are congregating..."

hmm there is potential:party

there's a lot about being pissed in a field that you poor novices could learn from a veteran like me :D
I could see myself taking a few of you under my wing and explaining the finer points. it should be a large field. big fields are better for this kind of thing.

Farmer Peter Leonard, "A man out-standing in his field".

I would love to learn the finer arts of pissing in a field, hmm, I mean getting pissed in a field. Please teach me oh master Peter, and guide us to the great homeland Danny boy.

Suggest Bowral in the Southern Highlands or Hunter Valley..
Both places I could arrange the local rugby club fields and facilities as a meeting place.. Both have accomodation at varying prices.. Both have great Pubs

What are you thinking of?.. Effigy Burning? Or marshmellow toasting?..

Seriously, both places get freakin cold from now till Oct/Nov.. We will need external heating.. Fires might be cool..

Cold , you don't know cold mate! A big fire would be good though! I think what i'm trying to get at is a time when we can meet up without worrying about travelling , driving etc and just have a good night. At the shows we're all rushing around trying to do and see everything and you don't get the time to catch up and relax abit.
I'm not pushing this anymore as i want to se what the interest is. Maybe a talking point for the West cruise-in!

If you've read this far please answer the post and let me know the interest.

Dan :)

Sounds like a great idea. There is one planned for Wagga Wagga on the Queen's birthday weekend, maybe a little further than you are talking, but it would be good to see some NSW people there! Tried last year in Albury, but only got Victorians really.

:D
Make it a long weekend and you would probaly get some Victorians up there!
