im looking at a 66 baja...the ad doesnt give much more of a desc. other than saying that it goes good and is regoed and DOT approved........what can you guys tell me about 66 bugs........what pan? brakes? engine? just wondering as im seriously considering buying it but as i have a superbug i dont really know much about older ones.

66 will be swing axle king pin, drum brakes wide 5 stud pattern. That is stock though and I haven't seen a stock baja for years ..

Also 6 V little windows, crappy door locks, crappy wipers.......

hmm.....ok so thats not looking like a great buy if its stock then?....what if its still got the swing axle pan but been converted to 12 volt?.....its advertised for 2 grand with rego till the 6/04
