Hey All..
Just a Quick one, What Cylinder is "Number 1" Cylinder on an EA81 Subaru engine..
I feel a little stupid asking this but would you belive no where in my manual actually describes which one of the Cyl's is NO.1, Well not in relation
to the rest of the Engine anyways..
Well I am trying to Time the ignition and came to the relization that I do not know which is CYL NO.1 nor do I know where to line up on the
case(Block) the 3 notches on the Fly-Wheel...
I going to play in the sand tomorrow and I would like to get the most I can out of my Baby...
Thanks for your help...
Dean.. :bounce
I'm pretty sure the block has the cylinder numbers cast into it, i know my ea 71 does.
I thought this would be the case, but I cannot find where the numbers are cast..
Going to have another go at trial and ERROR in timing the beast..
See it i cant find these numbers.
And I still do not know where to line up the Flywheel notches..
Any Ideas..?
if you have a timing light, by connecting it to each lead you should be able to fairly quickly work out which cyl is no. 1. The other three leads
will throw out sparks which will in no way make the marks line up. My guess is that it is either one of the two closest to the pulley wheel.
good luck...
