Hello Sky,
Maybe You need a few shims behind the striker..
Maybe its too far away from the door when its shut & there is not enough metal to hold it closed... I haven't done an early door for many many years....
Surely there is someone in the Brisbane area that can adjust it for You...
I've only had late model door experience in the past 20 years... so I can't even guess...
You have an adjustable wedge at the top that is adjusted to stop the door lock from rattling...

Check the striker plate to ensure that the faces of the plate are not excessively worn, particularly on the shoulders. Check the plastic wedge for wear. If wear is excessive at any points above, the striker plate assembly should be renewed...
The adjustable stop prevents the wedge from deflecting when the body is subject to torsional stress or road shocks. The adjustment screw allows the stop bush to position the wedge so that it cannot move out of place when the door is closed....
That is part of the adjustment info in the Gregorys Australian repair manual No:46...

Best of Luck..
