No wonder U are dazed and confused... That was a terrible photo...... A Poor defenceless.... hurt no one..... split window Bus... I hope I never see something like that ever again..... I'm just going out to check My Fire Extinguisher... or 2 or 3.... If You need One Fire Extinguisher for a Beetle then You need at least two for a Kombi - Bus - etc... I wonder if it was repaired or taken to the US Junk Yard or UK Breakers .... I hope so.
I Hate R.I.P. :D:o:D:puke

I was experiencing an overheating problem some time ago, and had I not located the cause of the problem as soon as I did, I could easily have fried my engine. :cry

Check your firewalls!!! Mine was slightly bubbling off the wall, and the air suction was pulling at the bubble, hindering air intake for cooling. :thumb

Is that an Air Con compressor on your photo there ? Is that a carbied motor too ? (cant see the carby in all that gear....)

Grey 57 - December 9th, 2002 at 09:43 PM

Sorry 68 didn't mean to upset you, mate.
Good call on the fire extinguishers tho. Been a bit of talk about that on this forum lately.
An extinguisher was one of the first things I put on the oval when I first got it.

jenz58 - December 9th, 2002 at 09:46 PM

Well Bel has new firewalls and we have a fire extinguisher. Fingers crossed nothing like that ever happens though

fatboy - December 9th, 2002 at 10:03 PM

Hmm.

What price would a decent extinguisher cost ?
I'm assuming more than the $20 aerosol can type currently looking after betsie.
Poor Wombat hasn't got any ?
Must attend to this.

Best way to stop that is to clamp and safety wire all the fuel pressure hoses especially in and out of the fuel pump and into the carbie.
