Currently I have a 1600 sitting in my beetle, with a 12 Volt but no Alternator, only a Generator. I will need to get a Alternator for sure for around $300 + $100 Install. It is a recomditioned motor --

Now my option: a reconditioned 1600 motor with Cams and New Pistons and Barrels also a Alternator installed going for $800 AUD ... now, is that a good deal that I shouldn't miss? $800 includes installation.

Please give me some advice

Do you know the seller? Is there a warranty with the motor? Is there proof it IS rebuilt?
If yes to all get it. You can't go wrong...

if it is all good ,sounds okay ,you still have your motor in the shed for a spare
