I am selling up and moving to remote North East West Australia on the top end of the Canning Stock Route and The Tanami Track on the edges of The
Great Sandy Desert and The Tanami Desert, always wanted to visit the Kimberley Region.
The Graveyard needs to be cleared by the end of May, (sorry its such short notice) apart from a couple of special projects that we are keeping the
rest has to go!!
There is currently about 60 plus VWs (all aircooled), approx 30 Beetles ('53 oval thru to '72 Superbug), few Type 3s, few Splitty singlecabs, a
couple of Splitty shells, and a heap of Bays. Most have had bits stripped off them in the process of keeping others on the road and building projects.
Have a lot of tyres and rims of varying sizes.
Due to the time frame I have I will not be able to spend time sending Pics to people or sitting in front of the computer so the best way to contact Me
is by phone: Between 8am and 9pm on 0417 388 738 during the week or 0354 361 562 at home.
The deal is: -make a phone call
-come and look
(or arrange someone to come and look for you)
-find what you want
-find me (I'll be packing)
-make an offer
-I accept offer
-You take goods and are happy
-I wont have time to be pulling bits off and organising freight or postage etc.
What happens to anything that is left I shudder to think. Unfortunately it's all got to go!!
To get an idea of what might be in the Graveyard do a search on this site for posts by Desert Bug and look for posts about Graveyard. A lot of stuff
has gone since the pics were taken.
Cheers, Ian.
You're shitting us, right? This'll start a cannonball run of sorts across the Nullabor! Why don't you just visit the northern lands? Sounds like a big deal. Isn't Broome nicer?
Bloody hell Ian!!!! Its a pity about the timeframe, as I'd love one of those single cabs, or even just a split bus, but I'm really not in a position to purchase at the moment. If I had the room, I'd probably take away at least three vehicles, but I'm going to have to pass. :cry
nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooo ian dont move never you cant i have been planning a trip down to your place nnnnnnnnnnooooooooooo
quick jim, steve and rhett save me some splitties and wheels!!!!!
cheers
rhys
shit. If I only had time off, money, a trailer and a car to tow it with, I'd be coming back with one of your ovals !!!!
Seriously, someone has to grab this stuff ! At the very worst, once all the aussiedubbers have had a look, make sure one of the shops / wreckers gets
the shells. I've already had to dump two split window buses at a dump, knowing they would get crushed - I'd hate to see it happen again.
How about we all just chip in and buy the property, WITH the vehicles?
so anyone down that way want to be the pick and pay person and ship it all over OZ for us ??
C'mon there must be someone down there who wants to be a shipping agent and make a few $$$$$

Ian,
Rhett called me a couple of days ago with this. Needless to say, I am shattered, and know you would be as well, as this 'graveyard' has taken years
of collecting. I personally think there is a better 'solution to the problem' but you have made you decision, so we all respect that of course.
I have asked my future outlaws(inlaws), who have property, for a small corner of it, which they have been kind enough to grant me, so I can say that
you can put me down for probably two at this stage. Possibly your high roof single cab, maybe a late 50's Beetle, maybe a type 3; I don't know..
Hadn't thought that far. I would like to come over on the weekend possibly.. Regardless, I will be in touch.
If, at any stage Ian, you decide after 12 months that this new venture is not for you, come back and get these cars back from me.. I can promise that
they will be sitting at my place, just like they are sitting at yours now, at least for 2 years plus, so don't even question that sorta thing..
We can only hope than NONE of these get scrapped or anything average like that..
Can I ask which ones you are keeping?!?
Hi Jim,
Bit of a shock hey!! I'll be home on the weekend working on the Desert Splitty fitting out the inside, so come on over.
I absolutely love driving it and watching peoples' faces when the realise how high it sits with the big tyres etc.
I'll be keeping the '63 choptop Beetle for a future roadster project and Rhett wants to hang onto two Country Buggy bodies and the Ragtop.
Cheers, Ian.
You wanna message me the directions again please mate? From Elmore should be fine!
Any day you prefer? Not Sunday morning, but any other time?
Hi Ian
Have sent you u2u

sorry to hear that you are parting with your old volks home and all its treasured contents.
i wish i could help out but i have more cars than space at the moment already
hope the move/trip goes well and all the nankervis clan and the bendigo folks dont miss u too much
..... in the mean time CMON DUBBERS, GRAB SOME FUTURE PROJECTS

rhys
What size tyres and condition? I'm looking for 165s tyres. Got any?
Cheers,
Nino
Been there today. People will need to get in quick here, there is a lot of work to be done if these projects are to be rescued and not scrapped.
Come on guys, minimal costs.. Get a future project now. If you are in Victoria, there is no excuse not to get here in the next couple of weeks.
I took some snaps today, and asked some questions..
Here's some snaps. Mark, not much there as far as what you wanted.. One or maybe two half shells, only good for bits. Nothing to start from scratch
on as far as shells 58-59 are concerned, sorry mate.
I have maybe three in mind at the outside, but I have a little more room, or access to, than others..
Probably go over again next weekend.. Pick up the goods.
Keep in mind, these poor people are flatout, so don't ask em to strip bits or anything like that.. go do it ya self!!
Two of these are taken by Rhettro, and there is a competition for the third.. HURRY PEOPLE!!
