Hi all,
I'm hopeless behind a steering wheel- really hopeless. I am the Queen of Road Rage and I've realised that's really gonna get me in trouble.
Any suggestions of how to learn to control my anger?
So far this morning on the way to work, I made myself sit behind every slow truck instead of overtaking and I didn't brake-check a single driver for
riding my ass during school zones.
Any other ideas? I need help!!!
:o
You must express your anger, but it must be done in a way that will not get you into trouble. Eg keep the window's upa dn swear all you like, or punch the passenger!!!
Just give in and become a courier!
Smoke before you drive... :party
I think road rage just isn't a "road" thing. No offence meant to anyone. Maybe you bottle up your anger and only let it out on the road. Try doing
something else to get out your anger, play a contact sport, do something creative - whatever relaxes you do it more often. Yeah - it's a life change
not a driving change
My 2 cents.
Allow yourself more time to get where you're going and see if that helps. Then when you're stuck behind some wanker doing 85 in 100 zone or
whatever, it won't matter.
Or do what Blue74L said, become a courier or taxi driver.
Buy a bus

Yeah, busses are cool. Who gets angry in a bus?
Hey, what's lethal about me in a bus???

Overtaking a slow truck, if it's safe and legal, is hardly road rage.
Neither is a 'brake light' hint that they are too close for your comfort.
Nor is letting a fellow driver know they have done something silly, dangerous, illegal or inconsiderate. Or are just f**en c**ks!
To my mind, it's no different to letting someone know they have a brake light not working, or stopping to pull a blown truck tyre carcass or piece of
rubbish from the centre of a freeway.
I do it all the time.
Just always remember you are doing these people a favour in the name of road safety.
Like last night, for instance. Roadworks on a freeway: temporary 80km/h zone. I was third in line behind a Commodore wagon and a Camry. The Camry was
doing 80. The Commodore wagon driver decided he'd sit about 1m off the Camry's rear with his high beams on and lean on his horn. This went on for
three or four km. I don't like seeing innocent people get picked on, so once the roadworks were over and the Commodore blasted past the Camry to
140km/h, I pulled past the Camry and shot up the Commodore's arse with MY highbeams on and leant on MY horn. Then I pulled out and drove up next to
his driver's window and gave him the finger. I think Mr Commodore got the hint and I'm sure the Camry driver appreciated it...

If I get cut off by a speeding driver I just let them go past and then they are gone - gone - gone - gone. What should I care. They are no longer my problem nor are they my responsibility.
Some P plater in a Commodore cut me out of my lane last night, and he deliberately did it. So I noted his numberpalte, pulled over and rang 11444 and
reported his ass for dangerous driving.
If a few more people do this, consecutive reports of bad driving behavior will get them nailed when they sooner than later get into an incident they
could have avoided.
Stupid thing was that this idiot was still at the next set of lights when I had finished. Moron.
As for advice on road rage? Top Gear suggests:

Personally, I have very little time for idiots who want to speed in road and school zones. I make a particular point of being a complete prick in
those areas if idiots try anything on. One day it'll get me, I know, but ...
Andrew
Just smile at folk and wave at them like a nutcase and tell them you love them. REALLY pisses peoiple off!
Dan
take a leaf from adam sandler and Jack Nicolson....... "i feel pretty, oh so pretty...."
hehe
I don't have these problems.
Whether it comes from being "put away" for hours on end on a slow goods train, or dealing with the untold amout of sheep (sorry- passengers)who
will ask where a train goes instead of reading the indicator boards.
From 12 years of driving a 1600 kombi with a top speed of 95 kph on the open road, or if it's from being a father of five.
My patience is about as close to infinite as you get!
Actually I'm probably the type others get road rage over.
I never hurry, I tend to make sure I got all day to get where I'm going & I don't wear a watch.
Tailgaiters don't bother me, I got a steel kombi with a steel bumperbar & a steel towbar. As most of the pimple faced arseholes who like to
tailgait drive plastic jap crap.....I'll win.........:P
But then, as my curtains are pemanently closed, I can't see them anyway.

About 2 months ago I was on the Motorway in the far left lane doing 100 when this 18 wheeler thought that my speed was too slow for the slow lane and sat 1cm from the rear off my car . The other lanes were clear but he did not pass. I did not cut him off or anything as i saw him coming in my rear mirror for a while . he sat there from the rochedale exit untill I left at beenleigh Went to the Cop shop with his rego number and company details and the Police said there was nothing they can do so whats the point telling them
