Saw some great baja action today at the new "Baja Park" a couple of minutes from Helidon,(10 minutes from Toowoomba). Owner Brendan has set up a pretty cool track on his land, featuring some high speed and dusty bends ,short straights, and a couple of bog holes to make things interesting. The spectator area was set up in the middle of the track and was right near the biggest bog hole featuring a nice jump on the other side, great for photography. We met some other Klub veedubbers and had a good time watching ,but most people will agree It would be more fun actually participating! Well done to everyone who was involved in organising the event. Keep it casual and watch out for my Baja kombi at the next event. P.S. Where were the buggies? They would have been covered in mud, like us spectators.:beer
pics?
the only casualty (temp) of the day was a busted tie/rod turning this baja into a plough look closely at the left front tyre.....
Whens the next one?
you'll have to let everyone know when the next one is.
looks like fun :thumb
I just passed the green and the blue ones travelling in convoy back to Bris. Funny, I was in the comfort of my new 4WD, but when I saw how mud spattered they I couldnt help but want to swap them..
We went up wth KlubVW Bayside for a cruise to the baja action was a lot of fun and well run.
thought it was great the drivers gave the kids drives around the track
thanks guys great day

Dubcab, great photos sorry we could'nt be there today but i was still putting back together my Tow'dster in the driveway for our own club event at 11am this morning(but hey finaly made it). Anyway looks great and will hopefully make it next time. Andrew
The organizers are talking about making it a monthly event.....lets hope. I'll be looking forward to seeing you out there Wes and others from klub
VWOFFROAD and MANX CLUBetc. By the way dont bother washing car before coming out!
I discussed with Moniek from klub vw bayside about how cool a nice shiny new beetle would look bajafied. Well I've been thinking about it and I reckon a couple hours with my trusty angle grinder, a visit to the wreckers for some longer springs and a set of 30inch mud tyres I've got sitting out the back and you'd be looking the business. Everyone seemed to have plough understeer on the damp parts of the track so your new beetle would fit right in.If you really wanted to do some drifting all you'd have to do is drive in reverse! That would be real cool:jesus
man that looks like a great day let us know when the next one is on

What is required lisence and insurance wise? Does it have to be a street car? and do u have to have a road lisence?
Mates just bought a Offroad Baja (class 4 I think?) but he has lost his road lisence for 3 months. If its on next month count us both in with the
class 4!! (still rebuilding the engine at this point so couldn't amke it
Great days entertainment, Well done to Brendan and crew. Also well down to KLUB vw Darling downs. Will be there with bells on next time its on.
I'd love to see something like this down VIC way.... it looks like great fun!! Kinda like Wes' parents backyard....
You dont need rego or liscence but if you crash thats your problem. After all on the day Brendan's kids and their friends had just as much fun in the black bug as anyone else .My kids are hanging to learn power slides and handbrakies, so I'm working on building something special .
