Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 10:14 PM

Well as some of you would know I bought my dad a kombi camper for his B'day. Anyway I picked it up from his Cabinet Maker Mates place today and I must say the fitoiut is awesome ......

Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 10:18 PM

It isn't quite finished yet and I still need to clean off the pencil marks and fit the screw caps. It needs to come out again so I can weld the rust spots and paint it but when it goes back in for the last time it will be one very well fitted out kombi

Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 10:20 PM

As you can see thsi was no half assed job ....

Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 10:26 PM

Details ..... IT IS AWESOME ....... I am going to see if he wants any business as he did a great job. That being said I reckon he spent many mnay hours on the finishing off as the attention to details is fab ....

Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 10:30 PM

Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 10:32 PM

Desert Bug - May 9th, 2004 at 11:33 PM

G'day Brad,
Looking good, nice layout, makes mine look a bit average.
Cheers, Ian.

Brad - May 9th, 2004 at 11:39 PM

after seeing this guy work I can say I now understand why he gets paid so much to build kitchens...

Lucky he is a mate of dads or teh interior may well have cost more than the kombi :kiss

HotRodMatt - May 10th, 2004 at 09:56 AM

Much much better than the original!

Good work.

KruizinKombi - May 10th, 2004 at 10:05 AM

Very nice!! I bet your Dad is going to be happy with his bus....

Brad - May 10th, 2004 at 10:21 AM

Better be the EJ22 goes in in the next few weeks, then the a/c and heater... Just working out the finishing touches on how I am going to plumb the a/c into the dash vents.... almost there ........

Brad - May 10th, 2004 at 12:09 PM

Purple Martin - May 10th, 2004 at 01:02 PM

Looks awesome!

Is it registered as a 4-seater now?

Brad - May 10th, 2004 at 01:24 PM

damn it I mean www.vwkombi.info

Seating Capacity as per the Enginers report is now 4 :o

Purple Martin - May 10th, 2004 at 10:18 PM

Cool - what's the deal for getting the rear 2-person seat passed?

Brad - May 10th, 2004 at 11:08 PM

you build it correct and take it to an engineer who approves it

Purple Martin - May 11th, 2004 at 08:56 AM

hehe yeah I was hoping for some detail about what's required to build it correct :P

Brad - May 11th, 2004 at 09:30 AM

Well if you send me an email I will be happy to help you out. I use to post details of stuff on here but sick of Wankers copying, stuffing it up and then telling me my design was wrong when the only thing that was wrong was their ability to build something properly.

Purple Martin - May 11th, 2004 at 12:20 PM

Fair enough, and thanks for the offer - I've sent you an email.

Brad - May 12th, 2004 at 11:50 AM

11CAB - May 12th, 2004 at 07:53 PM

Looks very cool
So where can the rest of us get those latches??
I spoke to some people from the Gold Coast with the orange camper that has similar latches and I think they picked them up for under $10 each

I like the idea of drawer and the access panel alongside the seat. I want to do the same thing to my Sunliner b/c it's almost impossible to use the space down that end of the cupboard. The drawer under the stove is a nice idea too, there is a serious lack of spots for small bits and pieces like cutlery.

Cruzin in a Golf - May 13th, 2004 at 12:51 PM

looks awesome great turn around from the pretty average thing you bought!!!
