Desert Bugs' Graveyard lives on.
Desert Bug - May 26th, 2004 at 11:07 AM

After much deliberation my wife and I have decided not to sell up just yet. I came to the realisation that VWs weren't just my hobby but that the whole Family were involved (there are 10 aircooled VWs in our family, 7 daily drivers and 3 being rebuilt).
We are leaving in less than 2 weeks and any vehicles already bought or earmarked need to be collected this W'end.
Cheers, Ian

Cool!! Does this mean you have worked out a way to keep your property, but are still moving?

PHAT BUG - May 27th, 2004 at 06:22 AM

G'day fellow VeeDubbers,

We leave for our move up to Billiluna (170 ks south of Halls Creek WA) next Tuesday, 8th June. If anyone is enquiring re Graveyard bits, Rhett (PHAT BUG) will be looking after things down here.

The Desert Splitty is nearly finished (trimming etc.), have fitted a towbar and am currently fitting '70 Bay suspension to my 6x4 trailer with '76 hubs and my modified 16x6.5 Ford rims.

Cheers, Ian.

Save travelling Ian, and all the best on your new venture!!

Desert Bug - June 4th, 2004 at 01:31 AM

Thanks Hugh.

I've got a job as Works Supervisor for the Mindibungu Aboriginal Corporation at Billiluna Station at the junction of the Canning Stock Route and the Tanami Road. So if anyone is travelling these tracks look us up, we'd be pleased to see you.

Cheers, Ian.

Never been there.... do you need 4wd to go to these places?
Good luck

KruizinKombi - June 4th, 2004 at 09:35 AM

Not if you have a Desert Splitty!!!

Good luck Ian. It's great to see you don't have to crush all those VWs, but still a shame that you won't be around to visit. Maybe one day I'll get to do a round-Australia trip and drop in on you over there....

Oh yeah, remember the window winder I bought from you last time I was up? I broke it.... I've pinched the one off the passenger door again!! I think it's time I found a stronger alternative. :(

Desert Bug - June 6th, 2004 at 10:53 PM

G'day Col,
Stronger alternative window winder, try Falcon they fit straight on.

Contact Rhett (PHAT BUG) by U2U if you want to call in anytime when you're up seeing your Dad or whatever, you're welcome anytime. Same goes for any other Forum members if they're in the area, long as you make arrangement with Rhett.

Only 1 day to go, heading off on Tuesday.

Cheers, Ian.
