Fun poll. Maxwell Smart's KG
Stealth - December 14th, 2002 at 08:38 AM

What was the colour of Maxwell Smart's Karmann Ghia Convertable in the series GET SMART?

I will answer the correct colour when we get 20 answers.

jenz58 - December 14th, 2002 at 08:46 AM

Loved that show, still do when there are reruns. No more cable TV:(

jenz58 - December 14th, 2002 at 09:06 AM

Shtarker: Let me let them have it. Dudududududu (making a machine gun noise).
Siegfried: Shtarker, zis is KAOS, we don't Dududu here.

Maybe it should have been Dakadakadak?

Grey 57 - December 14th, 2002 at 09:15 AM

"So the old what colour was my convertible trick eh" 99 get me the reruns.

Oh no can I do the poll again I was thinking of the 1965 Sunbeam Tiger and not the gia:o

jenz58 - December 14th, 2002 at 10:03 AM

Was this in the gia?

MAX: I'm sorry I'm late, Chief, but I was stuck in the car for almost 20 minutes.

CHIEF: I know, 86. The traffic.

MAX: No, the seat belt. I can never get that darn thing unbuckled

11CAB - December 14th, 2002 at 01:17 PM

Well I've had my vote......just gotta wait for everyone else now........ :alien

Spook - December 14th, 2002 at 05:33 PM

I just voted red, but I think I'm wrong. The Sunbeam Alpine was red.

vanderaj - December 15th, 2002 at 01:51 AM

For people who have tapes of the re-runs, look at the season 3 and 4 start credits... The answer is very obvious there.

Andrew

ps. It's my favorite color, when I'm not driving a metallic silver or polar white car.

The_Bronze. - December 15th, 2002 at 08:40 AM

I wife voted blue but I have it from a reliable source that after the black and white years it was actually red. I'm going to go with red but black and slammed sounds nicer;).

vanderaj - December 15th, 2002 at 10:59 AM

The correct answer of course is blue:

I guess you gotta be quick.

Next~

jenz58 - December 15th, 2002 at 11:33 AM

That was quick!!

I checked out the site after voting but kept mum about the answer, wasn't sure how long the poll would last. That how I got to know red was the wrong answer:(

Did 99 ever drive anything. Somehow I imagine her on a nice Vespa!!!:D

The_Bronze. - December 15th, 2002 at 12:47 PM

Yeah I think we may need to clue you in on Questions and Quizzes Andrew.

Anyone got another one. I love these:)

jenz58 - December 15th, 2002 at 05:42 PM

Yeh, another one!!!!:thumb

This one was fun while it lasted

Been out in the garden all day and just checking in. Brilliant weather today!!:)

When in Melbourne grab the good days when you can:)

Phil74Camper - December 16th, 2002 at 05:35 PM

They used THREE different cars in the opening credits of Get Smart over the life of the series.

A red Sunbeam Tiger was the first.

The blue VW Karmann Ghia was the second.

What was the third, and what colour was it? I will post the answer in a few days...

I am not exactly hiding, just extremely busy. I'm doing stupid hours at work so I can have from Friday til Jan 13 off. I worked nearly 14 hours yesterday, until tonight I had not downloaded my personal e-mail since Sunday, and I missed the Bill on Tuesday, to give you an idea of how busy I am. (I... must... get... a... life. :))

Yes - absolutely - on the Albury front - where are we meeting for the drive up, or are we just going to meet there?

thanks,
Andrew

jenz58 - December 19th, 2002 at 11:11 PM

No we're driving up

Pee Wee, toybug, Mandy's 'vert, a baja, Bel and you if you want to cruise with us.

Fatboy, kruisin, toybug where do you want to start from? It's getting close now:bounce

The_Bronze. - December 20th, 2002 at 09:29 AM

Phil I would not have a clue but when I'm over at the outlaws later today i'll ask the minister of leisure vision who can recall Maxwell Smart even from the black and white days but isn't that crach hot on vehile types so don't wait up for my answer.

Come on we need a whole new poll going. I'm not a TV expert so if I ran one it would be wrong or have six different answers.

Phil74Camper - December 20th, 2002 at 12:42 PM

No, the Sunbeam Tiger came before the Ghia. Get Smart debuted in 1965 - have a look at the Ghia picture, it's not that early!

The third car Max uses in the opening is a gold-coloured Opel GT coupe. Go to this page for everything Get Smart, then scroll down to the 'cars' question.

And you can see pictures of all three cars from the different openings at this page:

REDKG - December 20th, 2002 at 08:13 PM

although his karman was blue everyone knows red ones go faster, just like the sunbeam.

The_Bronze. - December 20th, 2002 at 08:26 PM

Like quizzes - Here's one. Not VW related and hopefully you won't find your self using this context.
