The Mk2 is back.... After a voluntary engine freshen, it is back in my hands and run in after a week and a half...
The mk2 now runs H&R springs, Koni yellow shocks and a neuspeed 268 cam. The engine has been ported, polished and gas flowed by neil trama, and
the bottom end balanced, and reco'd with oversize pistons. While the engine was out, i replaced the engine mounts, cooling system and got the BBS
wheels refurbished. All this meant that the golf missed the nationals, but I will be there next year. Outwardly, the car looks the same, and in
reality, the cam is the only non-stock engine mod, so I still consider it classic. It performs very nicely!! It easily outhandles a Mk4 GTI and is at
least as quick.
For those who cant wait to see it next year at the nationals

come to Canberra on the 25th and 26th of September for our weekend with a cruise on saturday and a show on sunday...
