The Mk2 is back.... After a voluntary engine freshen, it is back in my hands and run in after a week and a half...

The mk2 now runs H&R springs, Koni yellow shocks and a neuspeed 268 cam. The engine has been ported, polished and gas flowed by neil trama, and the bottom end balanced, and reco'd with oversize pistons. While the engine was out, i replaced the engine mounts, cooling system and got the BBS wheels refurbished. All this meant that the golf missed the nationals, but I will be there next year. Outwardly, the car looks the same, and in reality, the cam is the only non-stock engine mod, so I still consider it classic. It performs very nicely!! It easily outhandles a Mk4 GTI and is at least as quick.

For those who cant wait to see it next year at the nationals , you should come to Canberra on the 25th and 26th of September for our weekend with a cruise on saturday and a show on sunday...
