Well , I will tell You this Adz.... I am a bit older than Your 1963 Beetle..... Actually I got My license in My Fathers 1964 Beetle in 1964... in QLD... the Licence cost something like $5 and lasted 10 years... but I came back to NSW in 1965 and had to change to a NSW Licence where You paid each year..... Yes that last one had Me squinting too...
I wonder why the yellow is bad as its perfection on My page which has a dark blue background I think... Maybe You folks have a yellow background!!!

Then the people who say that the Yellow is OK... probably won't be able to read the dark colours....
