You can always trust VW guys... I ordered a set of original replacement Golf GTI seat covers complete from England. the guy I got them off owns DB Cartrim in Blackpool. I ordered them in January. Mine have holes, and the rears are pilling. They got here today after serious concern that they were lost or customs had seized them.
I unwrapped them today, and they are in better condition than I expected!!! Hooray!!! Now I just have to replace the cushions in the factory recaros, and fit the covers.....

Cool when that happens! Shithouse when you get let down!
