Ever have one of those days when you can't put a spanner wrong? Got more jobs done than you had planned for and without ANY incident or hassles. Well
if your like me if never happens. Wrong parts , snapped bolts , missing tools and huge f*ck-ups , scraped knuckles , we've all been there.
This (rather strange) afternoon i thought i'd tackle 1 job but got 3 done!!
Firstly i bolted my cage in place. After taking heaps of measurements i took drill in hand , forgot the fact the car is original , 1 owner and put
some holes in it!! Amazingly everything bolted up great and i'm stoked with it. No scratching of paint , no tearing of headlinings , nothing!!!
Chuffed with myself i tackled the engine bay. Removed all the old original tatty firewall lining only to be faced with heaps of clue over the paint. 4
soaks of karo and it's all lifted off. Rest of engine bay is now crud free and will be ready for some paint touch up and polish by Monday! Looks 100%
better already
Finally i cut a new windscreen out of a truck windscreen. My screen is pitted quite badly and we had a broken truck screen down at work ( O'briens).
Took a template off a 67 screen and cut one out of the good side of the truck screen. Polished the edges , stamped the glass and hey presto , one new
screen. Saved $70 and recycled to! Enviromental wonder boy!
In fact so happy with myself i'm off to get a curry , a 6 pack then watch some vw drag vids and post all night!!!

better than ive had,go to clean up yard around bug , go out side gate notice fluid under 4wd and discover the pressure hose in power steering is
split.:cry
lucky i have sons bommodore to drive around in:o
Beware the ring of fire
Sorry guys no ROF for me. Too many years eating curries as hardened my stomach. Plus the Elephant lager 6 pack helped me forget about it anyway!! Oh
well back to cleaning my engine bay!
Dan
Not only was yesturday a ripper but todays gone even better. Finished cleaning the engine bay , treated some very minor rust , rubbed the bay down and
cleaned up with a mega wipe over with some prepsol. Ready for masking and paint t'w!
Whilst standing back and admiring my work my neighbour asks me if i want a vw engine!!!! Nearly fell over! His mate has one in his garage. A quick
call to his mate , we jumped in the van and went just around the corner to meet his mate at his lock-up. This 70 year ols guy drags this motor out the
back of his garage and says take it away, FOC !
Turns out to be a 1300 motor from his son's beetle and was in need of a rebuild. Jackpot! As i'm putting a new motor together it gives the tinware
and a few other odds and sods that i will need and save quite alot of money. Also gives me stuff like paint the tinware etc to do. Good as i'm saving
for my motor and any time consuming job is okay with me right now .
So if the paint works out t'w it has been the most successful 3 days of work on my 67! Something is going to go wrong , surely !
Bugger it anyway i'm off for a few beers later and $20 in the pokies! Way this w'ends going i'll buy some 48's with the winnings!

If you win, I want new ball joints for the advice!
Taa in advance from "the loser who never gets a thing right!"
Yes too good to believe. Day 3 a total success. Primered up last night to day i painted the bay 3 times and a lovely thick top coat. No runs ,
reactions , overspray , no dramas.
Leave it for a few days and give everything a wipe over and we're laughing. All i need is something better than a 1300 in there though!!! Oh well not
too long to wait !!
