And the second...

vwombat - June 15th, 2004 at 12:04 PM

Isn't he a great role model? Wish I had a croc to feed my offspring to when they get annoying! Wouldn't it have been better for all if he'd fed his testicles to the beast in the first place? Then our kids wouldn't have to suffer the replication of his genes in the future.

KruizinKombi - June 15th, 2004 at 12:06 PM

LMAO!!!! Man, that idiot knows how to get himself into a world of S4it with the media!!!

killakornkobb - June 15th, 2004 at 01:41 PM

HotRodMatt - June 15th, 2004 at 02:41 PM

buzzbug - June 15th, 2004 at 05:31 PM

yep he is a fool, but
He invests almost all the money he makes back into the environment.
He owns a shit load of land that is being preserved.

And there is some environmentlaists out there trying to get him fined $1,000,000. so they can use it towards the environment.

So yes he is a fool but he does do a hell of a lot of good work.
maybe not te feeding the baby to a croc stunt, but he does do good work.

Flying VW - June 16th, 2004 at 06:18 AM

He makes a Shit load of money just by being him self and working towards conservation.

I'm not a tree hugger or hippy type, but the world might be a better place if there were more people like him.

Sure he comes across as a wanker, but he is getting his message across.

robnjo - June 16th, 2004 at 07:32 AM

yeah I'm with Flying VW on this one....

KruizinKombi - June 16th, 2004 at 09:38 AM

Well, there is research that indicates that his type of program is the best method of educating young people about the environment, and he does do a lot of good work... not to mention making himself rich in the process, so more power to him. It's just a pity he has to be such a dick to make it all work. He makes Aussies look like idiots.

Who saw him when he appeared on The Panel a couple years ago? I swear he was stoned off his brain....

vwombat - June 16th, 2004 at 09:53 AM

Shades of grey... Yeah, I s'pose you guys are right. Even a serial killer can have his good side. I mean, I helped an old lady across the road the other day. Ooops, I've said too much. Don't check out back behind the hedges. Please!

Anyway, I just said he shouldn't breed. He can keep on saving the environment in my books. More power to him. I just don't want to see him in my face every 5 minutes!

I didn't much like the fact that the only Aussies that the Germans knew (while I lived there) were Steve Irwin and Pauline Hanson. I felt like a right Dick having to explain it all the time!

SteveMk2 - June 16th, 2004 at 02:42 PM

Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill!!! I am not a Steve Irwin fan, but for crying out loud... You guys need to stop watching your "today tonite" and " a current affair" cos that one sided schlockie journalism has defamed a guy who is doing more for the plight of endangered species throughout the world than any one else currently. Sure he is a big walking cliche, and he is over the top, but leave the poor guy alone. If you guys had his environmental cred, you could cast stones!!! Try another bandwagon!!!

By the way, those pics are a riot... But only from a satirical paying out on media portrayal kind of way...

vwombat - June 16th, 2004 at 04:53 PM

Who's making mountains? This is all extremely superficial chinwagging bullshite for people with too much time on their hands.

We've sure bled this one well and truly dry!

Craig Torrens - June 16th, 2004 at 05:25 PM

Great guy, Great father.................................How many parents stand at the side of a street with their stroller/kids less than a metre away from a car/truck travelling at 60KM/h waiting to cross ?????? I would have thought this was a lot more dangerous than what Steve did ??

buzzbug - June 16th, 2004 at 06:28 PM

YAY for steve.

Steve Steve he's our man

Give me an S
Give me an T
Give me an E

68AutoBug - June 16th, 2004 at 10:58 PM

Paul Hogan was a pretend crocodile hunter...
Steve Irwin is a REAL croc hunter....
There is No One who can take His place & Live..... long!!!
He just knows about things.. like snakes & crocs etc...
The pics were funny... and the baby incident was a figment of the cameras angle.. He wasn't all that close.... the camera angle only showed He was..... and He knows what crocs are going to do....
The Yanks & Japs LOVE Him.... and He loves their Money...
Good On Him... He's not hurting anyone...
At least , He hasn't started kissing the CROC before He thows it back into the water yet - like some one else...... does with fish !!!!!:):)

Only snake He cannot pick up is a spitting Cobra....
[from what I've seen]...

Lee -- and I Hate snakes... only good one is a DEAD one!!:)

Robo - June 17th, 2004 at 08:25 AM

He's alright, a bit silly sometimes but at least his heart is in the right place and he is genuine about helping nature. Witch is more than I can say about some Journalists!
The media always potrays PPL in the most news worthy light, this always results in sensationalisim, and only shows one side of a story. don't believe what you read or see in the media.
Im sure he has done more than most high profile tree huggers.
I cant see that anything he did, could be any worse than some of the things sanctioned reserchers do to the animals, and he is an educated naturalist, whos opinion is sort from related acdemics. Its a pity that the media don't focus on more important issues, like homeless youth, and political rorts. How many polititions have been subjected to this sort of scrutiny, they cop it for a week or two and all is forgotten.

As a pommie now living here, I have to say that me and my mates in the UK thought Steve was the best! I can remember spending a whole day watching an Animal Planet Steve Irwin Marathon, admittedly we weren't sober, but it was still great to watch, he makes awesome TV!!

However, we never assumed you'd all be like that. There's no way that an entire nation can have the energy of Stevie, if you did you'd be ruling the world by now!

My two cents worth; Keep up the good work Steve, don't let the media get you down, and even if you end up out of the limelight and having to rescue crocs again just to earn a living, you'll be doing a great job.
