Your speedo will be showing less than actual speed. The bigger the tyre the less RPM, the smaller the more RPM....

Yes it would be showing You are going slower than You actually are,,, so be careful...
Original size tyres were 5.60 x 15 crossply tyres
or 155 x 15 radial tyres.
Speedos are usually around 5% fast...

hmmm rightio thats interesting to know........as i no longer have matching wheels after an accident im looking at getting some wide5 15 ins by 5.5 or 6 inch wheels.....anyone got some going for cheap?

1962 Beetle has 569x15 =633mm height.
Option is 155Rx15 =630mm height.
