Re-Upholstering
killakornkobb - June 18th, 2004 at 05:22 PM

anyone have a quote on having all three beetle seats re-upholstered professionally in fairly plain black vinyl

this is including re-padding, and fixing any damaged springs in both front seats (low backs), and the rear bench seat

just curious as my front seats suck

We have a TMI seat cover set for a low back set in black for $150 if that's any good to you. Otherwise we use Car Trims in Camberwell for a lot of our trimming.

KKK,
Buy the TMI jobbies from Volkspower and I'll do the springs, reupholster and fit the covers for $340 front and back. There's a deal! $490 and back to factory. Can send some pics of stuff I've done if you like. Or ask Jen (Jenz58), sure she would have a pic somewhere of Bel's seats.
That goes for anyone on the forum too. TMI covers are as good as they get. They match the factory fabrics/vinyl, and no one else could make 'em for that money.
Brad

Here's one I did a few years ago. Made the covers from scratch for this job, they're not TMI.

My Kombi bench and front quotes for a similar (but not as good) job was about $300 a pop.

No cash, so I padded and gaffed through and over the holes, and whacked $30 seat covers on. It doesn't look or feel half as bad as it sounds.

If you've got the dosh, do it right tho'!

Chris.. is the 150 for both front seats? or 150 each.. or 150 for all 3?

my back seat only needs sun damage repaired which i can get done in plain vinyl so i'd only need the 2 front seats..

Volkspower - June 22nd, 2004 at 12:00 PM

$150 is for the front and rear seats and the price is only for this 1 black set we have. Brad, when do you want to trim the bus seats for me?
Chris

Volkspower - June 22nd, 2004 at 12:30 PM

Try not to wait 8months between services nexttime Damien.;)
are those covers home made or aftermarket Brad? what are you like for doing splitty door panels?

65busser - June 22nd, 2004 at 12:51 PM

Chris,

I made the covers from scratch, and painted the frames. Splitty door trims no problem.

Brad

How many arms and a legs for an interior Brad?
You can U2U me if you want or post here if you want. And will you or I supply the material?
Cheers
Chris

Does TMI do right hand drive stuff such as middle seats for splitties??

65busser - June 23rd, 2004 at 12:12 AM

Chris,
If you supply the covers, I'll do the re upholstery (re - set springs, re-pack seats) and fit covers for $50 per seat. So if it's a drivers' seat plus passenger double seat, $150. If it's a 9 seater bus, (9x$50) = $450. Make sense?

If I make the covers, depends on choice of fabric and whether you have piping etc
Cheers
Brad
