Dean, Talk to Australian VW performance and talk to Mick. Tell him what your thinking and you never know, might be a good chance to see what our
motors are really putting out:o
Might scare some people though....Iv'e seen some embarrased faces walk away from there
I'd be happy if mine can move the rollers :thumb
id would be really interested if i had my engine finished and in the car. BTW do u need special dynos for FWD?
Thanks Stelth, I'll give Mick a call and have a chat.
Any other starters. Will aim for late January 03, assuming we get some interest.:beer

Andrew, I'll ask about that when I call Mick. :bounce
Just wanted to bring this one to the fornt again to see if there is more interest.
I will be away for most of the rest of Jan, so I'm thinking Feb now. Will give Mick at AVWP a call next week. :thumb
Thought I would dive into the archives ad drag this one out again. Sounds like the Sydney one was a hoot.
How about it Melbournians. Register your interest, no good doing it with just the few we have so far. The Dyno man is going to want some numbers.
Dean
I'm in.
If I can get the Notch up on to the rollers!:o
I'm interested, if I can turn the rollers. I wonder if the Dyno goes down into single digits.
I'd be happy to have a run if I had something worth running, which I haven't.
I would give it ago.
I dont think you melbourneuns will be havin a dyno day you need at least 30 people to confirm there commin so that 10 turn up.
And you base this conclusion on what....

OK here's the deal.
Spoke to Mick from Australian VW Performance Centre in Croydon today and he was most helpful.
The Dyno is a Dyno Dynamics machine.
Not sure what was used in Sydney but if it was the same type then the results could be roughly compared.
Mick will also hook up the diagnostics machine ( line up the tail pipe) to see how the car is running under load.
Looking at about 30mins per car.
Two runs - Warm Up and Power Run
Mick will try to organise another set of rollers for the NB's & Golfs with FWD.
Cost for the Dyno & Mick for the day is $600. Not bad for place, man and machine for a full day.
Earliest we can get in is the middle of March.
Ideal numbers for the day is 15 to 20. This will bring the cost per head down to $30 to $40.
So we need to get some firm numbers happening.
Probably need to get the money to Mick before the day too. Think the fairest thing is to pay before the day. This way the cost is not blown out for
those who turn up.
Give us some feedback on who should collect the money.
But most of all put ya hand up to come along.
Should be a lot of fun.
I for one am looking forward to find out how much tire shredding power the 1600SP is producing. Gotta beat Che's score.
Put me down for 3 car's
Oh almost forgot, how does Saturday the 22nd of March suit everyone. It looks like the only clear weekend.
We have the Melb GP on the 9th of March and the Kennet River trip on the 15th / 16th.
If thats OK I'll pencil the date in with Mick at AVWPC.
Flying VW, I maybe should have said the cost per car will be $30 to $40 if we get the numbers. That OK.
I have also been thinking that we need to have a firm minimum of say 15 cars , payed up to proceed. That is confirm the day and pay the money to
AVWPC.
If it all falls over, who ever has payed will get the money refunded. OK.
One more thing, is we need to cut it off at about 20 cars to ensure that we have enough time to get every one thru.

I'm in for 1 car. Will you be at the next cruise or next general meeting?
I'll pay you then if that's ok?
Yeah cool lets see if we can get the car's, and take it from there.
I'm in. Put me down for one as long as it stays under $50. I'm
front wheel drive.
Andrew
Count me in.
I hope that you get a couple of standard engines and especially a 1500 standard - helps for comparison.
OK keep em coming.
so far we have
Me x 1
Stealth x 1
Vanderaj x 1
Kustomkool x 1
Pat x 1
Crash Man x 1
Flying VW x 3 (poss)

I will be at the next VW club Vic meeting, so if you could pass on the money to then that would be good. Other wise give me a call on 0412 500 588 and
I'll meet up with you or whatever.
Feed back on the date would be good too.
hi dean
sounds like a fun day to me.
i wonder what the tyre shredding 1500 will put out?
if the cost stays under $50 then i'm a definitne starter.
btw, i dont look in general chit chat often enough. this post was started a while ago.
note to self: check general chit chat more often
btw, when is the next club meeting?
(i went to my ist and only one a long time ago)!
are they still at the racv club on queen st?
i work in queen st now, so i'll come along to the next one if they are.
Good one Kim.
The next meeting is Tuesday the 18th of Feb at the RACV Club.
