Poll - Number of forums for buying and selling
vanderaj - June 28th, 2004 at 11:23 PM

There's dissension in the ranks. :)

Well, there's a few view points coming out of the wood work now.

This Saturday will be crunch time, and this poll will be the result.

Lots of forums:

Pro: Stuff is better sorted and stays on the front page longer
Con: More forums

Two forums (Cars and Parts):

Pro: Fewer forums
Con: Front page will still turn over reasonably rapidly with usually two or three pages per day

Discuss and vote.

I will throw in what might work, but prolly wont.
How about 3 sections
one for parts
one for early cars (pre 67)
and one for late cars (post 67)

As I said, prolly wont work....

N!

VWFOOL - June 28th, 2004 at 11:33 PM

either wat it was, or just 2 forums, who cares if the todays posts is longer, having all those different forums, i dont know, i just dont like it...

oval TOFU - June 28th, 2004 at 11:40 PM

Yeh, i think there's too many specific forums, but separating cars from parts could be good; or 'wanted' ads from 'selling' ads perhaps?

helbus - June 28th, 2004 at 11:55 PM

Seperating buying from selling ads would be a help to some people.

Then if someone is buying, and you are selling, you will be able to breeze through the buyers first before posing for sale. Maybe?

Maybe just go back to one?

Anthiron - June 29th, 2004 at 09:15 AM

i think the wanted being seperated from selling is a good idea

bugboymatt - June 29th, 2004 at 09:42 AM

I think two is all there needs to be. Just Cars and Parts. easy as.

david - June 29th, 2004 at 09:46 AM

endless combos here i think
1. Buying cars
2. Selling cars
3. Buying parts
4. Selling parts
maybe but then again i like the pre 67 and post 67 idea as well i used to be indesisive but now i'm not sure
definately not one but then you could go suspension and then motors a oh yeah interior and then a section for sunvisors and a special one for just for wheels and blahblah david

Only 2 cars/parts

VDUBXTC - June 29th, 2004 at 01:28 PM

Just 1 for cars and 1 for parts would be fine.

baybuscamperkid - June 29th, 2004 at 05:43 PM

maybe add a wanted as well? (3 forums - wanted / parts / vehicles?)

twoguns - June 29th, 2004 at 06:27 PM

parts and cars.

Dasdubber - June 29th, 2004 at 08:37 PM

My vote is two sections:
CARS FOR SALE/WANTED
PARTS FOR SALE/WANTED

obviously the parts section will turn over a lot faster but that is to be expected - mainly for people selling cars would want them to not disappear so quickly.:)

vanderaj - June 29th, 2004 at 11:38 PM

As long as no one double posts, today's posts is no longer no matter which choice is made, even if we return to one forum.

Anyway, it's looking like curtains for the new forums :)

I think seperating the wanted and selling is a good idea.

maybe 4,

cars - selling
cars - wanted
parts - selling
parts - wanted

ducky - July 1st, 2004 at 09:54 PM

2 sections of whatever headings @ this stage too many, some folk still posting in old heading so confusing, some folk just cant handle change:P

lobus - July 2nd, 2004 at 11:43 AM

I reckon there should be 2 sections as well.
How about?
Section1: Busses & Bus parts for sale or wanted.
Section2: Everything else.
Just my .02

helbus - July 2nd, 2004 at 12:05 PM

1 Very low Busses & Beetles

2 Others incl Baja

Midlife crisis - July 2nd, 2004 at 01:04 PM

2 sections
1) Parts for sale & wanted

2) cars for sale & wanted

vanderaj - July 3rd, 2004 at 03:47 PM

Okay the deed has been done. No posts (except for my no longer needed "Rules" posts) have been deleted.

Please keep the Cars in the cars forum, and the Parts in the Parts forum.
