sweet, thanx, it is for a baja bug, just tryin to work out what size tyres i can run legally

Got told that the ratio on width is 70/100. So say a 145 and a 165 would just be okay but really i'm screwed running 135's and 195's even though the actual height is okay the rears are to wide. Don't know on size of rims i.e 16's whatever. On a Baja you'll screwd aswell i'd think. Maybe a Baja owner can throw some light on it? Don't worry about it!

as far as i can figure i can run 235/75's allround and still be legal height wise, and in qld u arent allowed to change your wheel track by more then an inch, so 6inch rims should still be within these limits....... but still unsure how all this tyre sizing will affect insure in the case of an accident

Easiest way is to tell them , i have and it didn't make any difference on price of my insurance.

Umm track has got nothing to do with height of the tyre. Its the width of the car from center of tyre to center of tyre. So 6in will go over unless you get offset wheels then a 235/75x15 will hit the body. but you can go to 215x15 (215/80) there the same diameter but a little smaller.
