OK so what did you get?
jenz58 - December 25th, 2002 at 09:10 PM

Did all those VW wishes come true?

My present was last night when I spoke to my son in London and my old girlfriend who he's staying with. It was about 10.30 pm here and Bev was trying to get out the door to go buy the turkey. It was so good to talk to him again after so many months with him in places without a decent phone and no internet. We might all meet up somewhere for next Christmas while Simon is still away and other son Aaron and his girlfriend are heading over that way next year. It was so exciting talking about :bounce

Got a really nice oval Bug on a key ring and you can open it and there's a clock inside :D

Merry Christmas everybody. I'm crap at time zones and stuff but it's just coming up to 12 noon on Christmas Day here in Blighty :)

jenz58 - December 25th, 2002 at 10:07 PM

The key ring sounds cute.

The time zone thing is strange. Talking to Simon and Bev yesterday. Their day was just starting. Bev doing the last minute dash to buy fresh food. Our rush was over and we were into the 4th bottle of red on Chrisrmas Eve.

I can picture them now having that turkey Bev was going to pick up. I'm thinking of turning in for the night.

I had a wonderful day surrounded by close family and friends. Tonnes of food including the freshest2kg's of prawns I've ever had, fruit, chicken, ham, salad, nuts, chockies and heaps of cuppas.

Santa was pretty spot on this year with my order bringing some teaching clothes, a pedometer to motivate me to get outta bed and walk more and be more active through the day, a Galaeo thermoscope, a pocket am/fm radio, "The Blue Planet" ABC book and a carby kit for the dog. Don't know how he knew I needed one of those, right size and all!

In amongst other things Sal got Airhorns, she didn't want them on the Ford so I scored them two for the Bajabug.

Geez that Santa blokes nice eh!

The kids as usual voted the best presents as being the cheapest - chandler wouldn't leave his spiderman colouring in book all day and jaxon was facinated with a battery operated train - wern't interested in the bikes, go-kart, playstation 1, tent and about 15 other goodies I would have killed for as a kid. As we are moving next year the outlaws went overboard as usual bombarding them with really cool gifts.

Now were gonna need a second truck to get all this stuff out west!

jenz58 - December 26th, 2002 at 09:35 AM

Christmas is great with little kids around. I miss that and I think it will be many moons before my kids provide a grand children. Well I'm the one who encouraged them to get out and live their lives a little while they're young.

Bridie made little bags of chocolates for everyone as she is going to Thailand in January with friends and wants to bring things back from there. Also saving her pennies. She makes wicked chocolates

Aaron and Em have decided that 2003 is the year they are taking off OS, the big save is on. His deal was no presents for him and none being given.

I still gave them something simple being a mum.

We've always tried to keep Christmas simple and lash out for birthdays so not much has changed. With travellers in the family it is usually hike boots, backpack or what ever else they need and that is too much of an expensive outlay for them

Feasting is a must though and just sitting around talking. A time when everyone gathers and spends time with each other.

OK Col what have you got for Pee Wee now? :) I can wait until Friday but you do have me wondering!!!!

KOM123 - December 26th, 2002 at 06:38 PM

I got some nice un-related vw stuff but my mate had a good chrissy/birthday - he got a holley blue pump and regulator (set up for low pressure for his dells), as well as a heap of AN fittings and braided line (as well as an in line holley pressure guage) for the engine bay. Pretty cool stuff (I was enlisted to buy his presents from his family!).

last celtic warrior - December 28th, 2002 at 11:58 PM

I got a '67 1:18 scale Beetle... It's very well detailed and will end up in the toys and collectables section as soon as I take some pics.

Also got a camping stove from my wife that'll be real handy next weekend on the Rainbow Beach camping trip.
