Well after 23 years of ownership we sold our Origional family car today.
the 72 type 3 was purchased in 1981, and has been through a few changes over the years, it was said to see her being driven off up the street this
arvo.
Both boys came home from the hospital on the back seat, and they both obtained their driving licences in her, in recent years.
Quite a few memories.... gone to a good home.

Dave- I was going to put a comment about back seat activities well B4 you bought the boys home from the Hospital.Parting with that after so many years must be really hard -I know I couldn't do it.The only consolation would be if it went to a good home-but you know they will never look after it like you even if they have good intentions.
Hi Dave
I think that red golf is still 4 sale at Mortdale. Looks like Bobs. Having recently lost a loved one I know how bad it feels.
Steve
It always feels terrible driving off with a car someone has had for such a long time....
CoopGirl has a few plans and wants it to be in our family for just as long!
Thanks Dave! I'm sure you'll be seeing it around the traps...
Yep for sure.....
Just keep an eye on the oil ( as with all VWs ) and she will keep going for another 20 years.
as jen said, at least you know its going to a good home.
Dave, I love it like it's my own child (actually even more cause I haven't lost any sleep over it yet!).
lol Rach....enjoy your new ride!!! :thumb
Hey this is what we all want when we're faced with selling part of our lives....To know it is going to be loved..
OK ..... so has the Sqback got a name?
Jen, I've named him ZeekyDeek (Zeek for short) and at the moment he is having a crab bar fitted so we will be able to transport the rug rats safely.
So will you be driving ZeekyDeek by the weekend?
I can imagine the kids trying to say his name already!!
