ByronBug - August 29th, 2004 at 03:03 PM

Next Monday I am going o/seas to Holland for a friends wedding.
I am also touring Germany while I am there.
Besides Wolfsberg & Autostadt can any forum members suggest any where else I can visit that is VW related?
Wanna see everything while I am there so any ideas?
Judy :)

hi judy
I was actually born in holland and lived there till I was 9 which is quite a few years ago now, so I dont know of any vw places.
but you should have a ball there might even be some snow and ice left. we used to have a ball skating on the frozen rivers and creeks

ooh and BTW, unlike kafer, you wouldn't have to adopt me-ee. I'd be happy to sneak on plane as excess luggage... ;)

Judy is very optimistic about snow and ice that may happen mid-november.
I HAVE TO SAY GO TO sTUTTGART AND see the Porsche museum also Mercedes benz F R E E entry.
Before you go get a Germany Rail Pass here from Flight centre etc.....work out the number of days you wanna travel and you will save heaps of $$ Plan it so u get the most value 4 $ ie each day you can travel up to 24 hrs around the country( booking your seat is a few $ more but you can get even on the ICE train up to 300KMS an hr AND book a window seat and you are in comfort or restaurant and style!! ( Twin Passes or student ven save you more $)

If you intend on hiring a car to get around.... which is proberly the easiest method and most convienent.... make a booking here first before you leave .. as i had to wait at Avis for a day or so in order to get a car.

Besides the rate is much cheaper and you can get better deals and can order a type or model you want to cruise in.

Yes go to the Karmann factory and VW as well.... there are heaps of other museums around just got to find them
