Gooday there all u Queenslanders....
If your doing nuthin on the weekend of Jan 17, 18 and 19... we hope to be running the VW Drag car at the Willowbank Summer Nationals Drag meeting,
No doubt with the crowd we will be pitted down on the back fence, so stop by and say hi if your there.
Hi Dave, good to see the vws will be in action, i might even head on down for a look
Dave,
What is Richard Holzl doing these days?
My Son Scott bought Richard's first set of fibreglass Aero guards [fenders] many years ago, plus other parts when He was restoring/modifying his
1956 Oval with 1835 Peter Richard's engine twin Webers Large sump & external oil cooler oil filter etc. on a 1968 semi auto chassis &
Simmons wheels. With NO Aussie VW Magazines around.. and living in the country ... We hear nothing.... Sometimes I get a bit of gossip from Kerry
Bateman and sometimes I give Him a bit of gossip I have taken from this forum......
:o
Lee, you can Richard here http://www.beetleracing.com
Any of you Queenslanders coming along to cheer??? n drink beer
Bit disapointed that no one from Ispwich came along to the Drags. Only saw one VW white Beetle in Ispwich with a Lcub sticker on the back window ???
I was there on friday (qualifying)- but the only "VW" i saw run was Nastybug... there was no volks left on that one apart from the fiberglass mold. I know off one other bug that was there but did not see it due to sun stoke- I hope there was a bit more volkswagen material left in it!!!
Yeah we ran about 9.30am then again at 1.00pm in the Super Street class.
Yes the car is all VW... best time was a 11.79 @ 112mph
We had another run on Saturday around 9.00am to qualify
then on Sunday we ran at 9.30 again but got knocked out in the first round so it was onto the trailer with the car and as you saw suffer from HEAT
STROKE.
