The son of the guy I work with, works for the DNRE and has been on fire-watch for about six months. As it was my first day back at work today, I heard
lots of stories about the fires in Eastern Victoria. It sounds like they're getting pretty desperate.

The country side is drier than I've ever seen it, with an intense heat haze. You feel if you look too strongly the stare can ignite it all.

we dont have fires here just fierce drought (level 5 water restrictions can only use buckets and watering cans for 1/2 hour) but when at work yesty
morning at 6:30am it was 25 degrees it was a bloody stinker!!! (i was in nice air conditioning all day )
but everyone is being hit bad hope everyone is alright!!!
