Just got back from our Beach Trip
11CAB - December 31st, 2004 at 09:18 PM

Here are some pics from our trip. Had a blast, but couldn't believe how many 4wd were getting bogged....even a Porsche Cayenne....lol. They really dont like it when the Kombi drives past them when they are bogged.

Glad you had a great trip!
Many other VW's get out?

72TWINCAB - January 1st, 2005 at 10:46 AM

Welcome back guys. Hope you had a good time.

We will have to catch up soon.

11CAB - January 1st, 2005 at 12:25 PM

Apart from the Yum Yum Kalita beach buggy at Noosa North Shore, the only other aircooled VW was an orange Country buggy that was cruising the beach on the 29th I think.

Also saw a couple of T4 Syncro utes

Sorry I didn't catch up with you. I was in the country buggy on the 28th. Man, what about all the traffic! I was feeling smug after passing a new BMW bogged to the axles until I got stuck when I stopped at the wreck of the cherry Venture:cry

Any way, my main test was to see if I could get off the beach which went OK at the third exit with 10 psi in the tyres:thumb

On the Beach! A great day

11CAB - January 2nd, 2005 at 04:14 PM

We went on and off the Beach from the 1st Cutting, had no probs at all. I wanted some pics driving through the cutting but the camera didnt work the first time so we turned around and went back onto the beach and try again, much to the disgust of the 4wd that was bogged trying to get onto the beach.....LOL. I was running 12Psi in the rears and didnt get stuck anywhere.

No didn't go to Sydney.... Got a couple of messages from freinds in Sydney, so started sending mine early.

Looks like you had a good time on the beach trip.

Will talk to you soon.

That rusty pile is the wreck of the "Cherry Venture", it got stuck in a storm in 1973, here is a pic of it in 2002/2003

Love your buses boys!.. Just starting a twin cab baja project.. Hopefully we can swap notes.. Rob

11CAB - January 4th, 2005 at 09:55 AM

Have you checked out http://www.baja.com/kombi

Great site for Baja Buses.
Twin cabs are easier to do as you dont need to modify the sliding door
