Well, I failed my driving test due to Crtiical Driving Error. Basically i merged unsafely and the car behind had to brake to avoid hitting me. Then a car backed into me in the carpark of Queensland transport. Wasn't my fault though. I told the exmainer that i hadn't moved and it wasn't my fault, to which he replied "shutup and park the car.!" What a F@ckwit. So anyways, I'm just bitching about it for the moment.............:cussing:cussing

my bro had a similar thing 20+ yrs ago ,in his test a car tapped him lightly from behind after getting details ,the examiner said your test is void then proceeded to walk back the 1.5 km back to the registry and just left him there

This guy thought he was top sh*t. I know that i stuffed up, and am willing to accept that. But i refuse to be spoken to like a child. I am a tax payer who forked out lots of money for a service. If i told a customer at Red Rooster to "Shut up", i'd be fired. I'm gonna get my licence, drive to his house and sh*t on his lawn.:cussing

can you make a complaint against those blokes? a mate had an arsehole instructor have a mouth at him as well. he wasn't pleased...

I've sent an email to the customer service sector of the Qld Dep. of Transport. Just explained what happened and that I wasn't impressed with being told to shut up. I think I, and anyone else in the same position has a right to complain. Driving examiners should live up to the same kind of service standarsd as anyone else. I know that their jobs must be pretty crap, and they probably deal with some terrible drivers everyday. But i was in no way terrible! Ooooooh, i'm in Che Guevara mode now - REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!

that sucks, taking the test is a total bastard, i passed mine 16 years ago in the uk but i have had to take it again since i moved to australia.. i put it off as long as i can(cant take a pommie's points) and they told me i will lose all but my main driving licence which i would have to take the thery for.. i fucked it 3 times, the great thing was i could fail but walk outside and drive off on my uk papers .. vern is right people that have been driving for ages would never pass .. to many bad habbits ...

I got mine in QLD (long ago), got lost during the exam, drove to the beach, accidentally was speeding (60 in 40 zone), but he passed me anyway cos it was a nice day for a drive to the beach!

830am exam, peakhour, middle of Sydney, Friday the 13th (yeah!), and p*ssing down with rain!! Failed by one lousy point, man I love QLD.

Maybe the examiner was checking your road rage compatibility. Sounds like an arse all the same, but best to suck up until you have that P in your hands.

man i had a lady just like that 4 mine. She told me to stay in the left lane and go straight at the lights, when it was clearly marked left lane must turn left, so i questioned her and she said no you must go straight here. So i did then she said ok we can go back to the regestry now, then she failed me.....i went back 3 days later and got the same lady, this time i was ready for her and passed then layed down a burn out in the RTA car park in my old car :thumb:

you are lucky you got failed for something that you actually did...my 2nd attempt at my auto license, i was greeted to the awful face of some B**ch that you could tell had very bad pms or something... she failed me for supposedly failing to give way at a round-about... funny that... i had stopped the car and waited for the cars to go by and everything.

Chin up bertie_beetle, it took me 3 times (20 something years ago) and I had the same guy twice, when I passed the third time he hugged me. I'm not sure if he was happy for me or glad to see the back of me!

pyro... isnt it illegal for the tester to tell you to do the wrong thing? or is it that if they tell you to do the wrong thing you just do the right thing anyways and stuff what they just said?

yeah, i failed my first time too. was in burwood the day after they installed those 40kph zones everywhere they could think of. drove through one and the instructor actually apologised to me for having to fail me. this was the day before teh complaints about the zones were all over the radio. supposedly in a standard licence drive you could go through as many as 11 speed zone changes. anyway, managed to get another attempt the next day (after someone pulling out). did a 15min lesson in a car that i had never driven before then proceded to pass with flying colours, man you should have seen em shake and sweat when i went through the section that brought me undone the first time.
remember your mistake, remember that you can be failed right up until the engine is off, the handbrakes up and you are out of the car and forget the dickhead that you had the last time and you will be fine.

When I got my car licence 13 years ago it was ok as I had a really laid back guy who was just about yawning. It was first thing Mon morning and he was stuffed from a big weekend I suppose.

With my motorbike licence, that was really easy. I was living near Echuca at the time in the country and the local cop had to do the test. He told me a few streets to drive down and he said to come inside when I got back. When I arrived back 5 mins later he had my change and paperwork all done!!!!

Yeah unfortunatley it depends sometimes on who you get. You are right you do not have to be spoken down to in any way.

I got mine the second go..
First go was in the city.. and failed to come to a complete stop.. i thought it was just a simple give way kjinda intersection.. oh well

Got it the second time when i did it in Huonville (the local town near where i live)
There was no way i was doing it in the '69 bug at the time.. it was SO not roadworthy.. but still registered LOL.
Ended up doing it in what i learned how to drive in.. a '93 Hilux Dual cab 4wd.. big heavy thing it is... passed with flying colours.. pulled off the reverse park perfectly and all, i'm sure the isntructor thought i wouldn't be able to do it

failed the first time as well with the three point turn. I stomped on the brakes when I thought I was about to hit a kerb and the mongrel thought I could have made it around in one go. (went back later with my instructor and even he couldn't get around in the street without about four turns).
Its one of those things that happen (a lot it seems), but good for you for complaining. No one should talk like that in their position.

Thanks people. Good to know that I'm not alone in putting up with morons. I'll have some more lessons and give it another go fairly soon. One of the hardest things for me is adjusting to the clutch in the learner car. Witht the beetle, it slips into gear as soon as you lift the clutch up slightly, but with this other car you have to lift the clutch up about 2 inches before it slips into gear. I guess thats what modern cars are like, but it sucks when you're learning.

You should come up to the Sunny Coast and try again.. Seem to be not so bad up here.. I got my license first go and i drove like crap.. I did my reverse park-got in fine then to get out i reversed a meter and hit the curb... then at the round-about i was beeped because i didnt go when i was supposed too!!

Oh well maybe he was having a good day!! my friends werent so lucky

next test, you rev up the engine, smoke the wheels out of the carpark, burn down the main street, slam on the brakes when ya need to stop etc. The examiner will be soooo scared to sit in a car with you again, he'll pass ya thru shear fright

try ask them if you can do it in your car?
not sure if you can in queensland, but here in vic I did the test in my car and all was fine - heaps easier than having to get an instructor and get used to a different car which you'll never drive again

I'm thinking of trying to go again in the beetle. Hopefully the car will pass their standards. I'll also do it a zillmere, where the reputation of examiners is much more relaxed and friendly. I can drive more relaxed and naturally i the beetle, so i think i can do better if i can use it in the test.

I was lucky on my test. I used my sisters car and only had one drive with an instructor to which he told me using the palm of your hand to steer the car through a U turn is not the right way. lol.

I was not able to use my car is at the time it was a 1976 Leyland Mini S and the speedo could not be seen from the passenger side, so make it easier again, i used my sisters 1996 mazda 121 bubble. I laughed when he told me to do a reverse park. 1 move and i was in. hehehe. Victoria is awesome to get ya licence in. I had a scotts man as an instructor too.

You'll be right, try, try and try again. If i can get my licence. Anyone can.
