Where in Brisbane to take Transmission?
the_addoniss - January 8th, 2005 at 04:28 PM

I am in the process of rebuilding a buggy and have an 1800 box but i am putting a 2L engine in. So what i need to do is get the Bell housing changed so i can use the larger flywheel. So my Q is does anyone know where i can get this done in Brisbane?

Why cant you do it yourself? its only a matter of unbolting the old bellhousing and bolting on a new one. And changing the input shaft is just as easy

I dont have any of the parts to do the conversion and would prefer to get this done by someone who knows what they are doing and i have no idea about the transmission.

Well there are a few Transmission repairers in Bris.

German Autos
Mick Motors
Leons Motors
Mac Tune

Is there any specific one of these which specialise in transmission repairs?

laurie svenson of German autos is very good. he is located at
Unit 1 20 Fortune St Geebung QLD 4034
ph: (07) 3865 5457

I don't know if Mac Tune is still operating as Barry is now working for 4*4 australia at Brendale and his dad was looking after the shop but he to may of given it away

hope that helps

I second Laurence at German Autos (haven't used the others though so cannot comment on them). He is a bit of grumpy fella, but certainly knows what he is doing.
