Ok I read and hear a lot about what people do and can do but who really knows Peter Keegan from Orange NSW.
This guy goes back to 1974 when he broke the world record for a VW powered Beetle in his Camel sponsored drag car 2260cc supercharged. Couple of pics
on the new vintage vee-dub supplies web site in the early drag cars.
Craig @ VWMA may be interested indoing an article on him.

Hi
He often comes to the VW Nationals with a super clean bay.
Steve
I don't know him but I used to go to Castlereagh Drags when he was running it. It was always a crowd pleaser
Man!, I am getting old!:cry
:bounce I now own his Bay - a beauty it definitely is :bounce
Have a look in the Drag Race section theres some pics of his car there
What else do u need to know ???
I met Peter in Orange a few years back. It was just after he'd finished that bay. That car is awesome, the paint on the underneath is just as good or
better than the stuff on the top.
I also asked him about his old race car. He was very cagey, he said he couldn't remember much about it now, yeah right. I later found out he was
thinking about staging a return to the sport, however he changed his mind when he found out how much effort it would take.
His car was something of a local legend in Orange apparently, There is a brass plaque outlining his achievements somewhere in town. He was the first
aussie to make it into the 11s if I remember correctly.
If you want to get on to him, try contacting a guy called Fabian (owns a red stroker powered oval) who is in club VW illawarra or look Peter up in the
Orange white pages.
:alienwas inquisitive but I got his number. Post was to see what replies would be posted as thought a VWMA article on VW legends would be appropriate and the editor has been given the lead.
Peter's Bay, as pictured in this thread, is a feature story in the next issue. It's now owned by Bert Wright.
Peter Keegan and Henry Spaicek are on my story wish list. I'll keep you posted.
Cheers
Craig
Excellent Craig - got Peter's phone number (if he hasn't changed it) if you need but won't post here.
Bert
think Andrew and Sam wanted to do a swap for their 233 while doing the photo shoot on Igor
Sam and Andrew were over for dinner the other night.
Andrew said he always thought his Kombi looked okay until he put it next to yours at the shoot.
However, house hunting plans will probably not see the ShutterBug Kombi painted for some time.
Cheers
Craig
