I am in the process of doing my interior and need some ideas. Could some people please reply and attach some photos of their interior especially if
you have some white and/or blue?
My updates can be found at http://oppressa.freeservers.com/humbug.htm
I reply just to keep your post up on the list.
I'm sure my stripped out , alloy door trims
and 25 dollar seat covered interior would not be of interest to you.
I just like the boy racer interior. Next for me is the alloy roll cage.
it's modified. did you want original?
one more
Wes, I like that Skull Gear knob. Do the eyes flash when you change gear.
I've got a brass skull paper wieght that I'm trying to turn into a high stop light by putting red led's into the eye sockets. :thumb
Love the interior Wes
Hey oppz,
It really depends on what look you're after? Stock, custom, race?(oh...and the $$$ as well!)
The car has to work well aesthetically as a package....

here are a few ideas
my interior was pretty cheap. I did everything myself except for the carpets and hoodlining. The door panels were cheap to make, covering dash panels
is cheap too. I did have no brand gauges as shown in the pic, but now have an MX6 instrument panel. The front seats cost $150 for the pair from a jap
importer.
My interior probably cost less than the billet window winders on Steve's pic (the last image)
The best place to get ideas on what you'd like to do is GO TO A VW SHOW.
The next one near to us in Sydney is the Volksday 2003 at Bulli. Come along and look at all the VWs, and talk to their owners! It's a great day
out and you'll have a ball. Plenty of food and entertainment all day too.
Sunday 23rd Feb at Bulli Racing Complex, Princes Highway Bulli. From 9:00am. Only $5 entry too, kids under 15 are free.
See you there!
I really like the relief work on the red door pannels. Very nice.
who does work like that?
the relief stuff I mean?
Hey Wes,
I just bought a 67 split window. My interior is dead and I need to revamp all the interior paneling, floor mats, seat covers, etc.
Did you have any specs/guides on how to do your interior? Any recommendation on parts, or part shops to use to get good prices.
I must say, your bug looks excellent!

here are a few from my kombi
how do you do more than one snap
When 65busser has finished Bel's back seats I'll post some pics.
The front ones are majorly sweet, so with the back she will be doubly majorly sweet:thumb
Yeah Jen - I met Brad at DOVW and the seats in his Kombi look really good he definaltly does a great job
Very good job and he loves doing it
They look sooooo good:kiss
just go stock.....as a rock.........
hey greedy...where did you get your white steering wheel from?
can anyone recomend someone to reupholster my bench seats in brisbane?
plain old vinal spray make sure it's very clean
greedy, love the console around the gear shift. Did you do that yourself? I'm pondering a V6 conversion to a Kombi and couldn't work out where to put all the extra gauges.
yep me and a mate did it and one for his i kept the templates and if you would like i could trace it onto paper and mail it and than you could trace
it back onto cardboard
steve (greedy)
I too would love a copy of your console pattern if you don't mind sharing, what's the best way to do this?
I am not happy with my door panels at the moment. I want to do some cool custom arms rests, I just can't decide what I want to do.
Making door panels is easy. cut some 3mm MDF to shape (use old panels as a template). Then cover them with whatever. I used velour with 5mm foam
underneath. curved it around the back, glue it with sellys quik grip, and staple gun it until the glue dries.
to make relief work just cut another panel with the shape you want, glue it on top of the other panel, then cover them together. you need to glue it
everywhere to stick in the recessed bits. You also need good material that glue won't go through easily, and it needs to stretch and shape
without wrinkles.
another way to ensure the relief work turns out nice is to use a vacuum pump to evacuate a sealed bag. Suck it down to -25inch mercury. That way
you are ensured of a nice result this is also the way I make my RC
plane wings...or why not make the panels out of fiberglass or carbon. Thats my next task its easy just need a piece of glass to ensure the result is
smooth.
anyone wanting the template for the consol e/mail me and tell me your address and walla away it will go to you
