Well I went to Hobart to look at old wooden boats which I did, but couldn't help but notice all the nice Vee Dubbs about. Well you do get the
kombi campers, and just plain kombis from the mainland but there are lots with Tassie rego.
Hmm, took my SLR with me this time so no digital shots. First pic taken was of a nice unrestored, battered and well used spit window kombi down at
Salamanca Place early Saturday morning. The owner was setting up his stall at the market.
Still early and market still being but together, sitting and having coffee when a nicxe bay window parked up the side street from me. Finished coffe
and wandered up to take pic when owner came back. She was from Queensland but settled in Tassie and as a going away present a friend painted the side
of her kombi with the most amazing mural. The drivers side had a big green tree frog on the door and down the side was a tropical rain forest scene.
The other side had more of an aboriginal theme of ochre colours and hand prints. The whole thing was really well done, definitely a work of art.
So many more nice daily drivers, kombis and beetles. Nice untouched, red notch parked outside the Maritime Museum late afternoon.
Saturday night walked from Hobart to Sandy Bay found so many VW daily drivers around Battery Point. Went back this morning with my camera, one house
had 2 well driven beetles out in the street and 1 type 3 sqback way down the drive in an over grown shed with it's nose sticking out ('70 by
the nose). I was drooling over the architecture in the area, then I didn't know what to do:o
Well 6 rolls of film taken of sweet boats, Vee Dubbs and Battery Point Streets. One very sun burnt nose and two tired feet, mmm, well worth it
OK had pics put on disc so bare with me while I indulge
The reason for going to Hobart, the Wooden Boat Festival. A show and shine for beautiful old wooden boats:kiss

Think this beetles owner worked in hospitality, always parked near the Oakford on Elizabeth Pier, near Constitution Dock. Well that was my thought. Very nice and original, beautifully kept
