Hi everyone , my name is sand kombi.
I own a 1975 dual/crew cab kombi which has been set up for the beach.It has a 2ltr.motor which has been modified to run on unleaded fuel with standard twin Solex's[a set of Delorto's would be nice]it is connected to a 1600 gearbox.tyres are B.F.Goodrich Mud Terrians 215/75 on the front 10.5x31 on the back on Mercedes Benz rims,front standard 6",back centres were removed and remounted offset onto 7"rims. the car has also been raised for better ground clearence. a heavy duty roll bar is mounted i the tray[home made.
the car has only been bogged once and that was operator error, they are much better than any 4wd
on the beach as they don't dig great holes everywhere

Welcome to the forum sand man/woman and if you should happen to get lonely in Brissie give the Bad little Buggers (blbvw.org.au) a yell, there are plenty of off road happenings going on.

Depends on when it is . There is this terrible thing called work. And as a rotating shift worker and flat out with work from sept. till xmas , I'll have to see what dates it falls on:cry

Good to see another lifted dual cab! You just missed this years Beach Run, but can check out some photos under 2003 events in this forum. The BLBVW Beach Run is scheduled for the first weekend in Jan each year and was originally started by Brad (buggy boys) and is a great run to attend.
