OvalGlen - February 24th, 2003 at 08:00 PM

hope you jest bout selin the beetle,
.
surely longer hours of toil to make the banks rich are in store

BenettonVW - February 24th, 2003 at 08:11 PM

Jest I do not.

She is up for sale.. I will be keeping some of the accessories, and it needs a motor rebuild(sold with or without rebuild), but other than that, as is...

Basically how it is in the pics, minus about 15 accessories probably.. Haven't thought about it much, so don't hold me to it.. Oh. And the plates.. he he :)

I'll be starting again down the track..

But Glenn, jest I do not.

The_Bronze. - February 24th, 2003 at 08:27 PM

Lets hope it goes to a drive whos going to get it up to some of our shows.

Great News Jim.

jenz58 - February 24th, 2003 at 09:06 PM

Congratulations Jim!!:)

Nellie is such a nice notch:kiss

Good luck with selling the beetle

Craig Torrens - February 24th, 2003 at 09:20 PM

Is it rude to ask your selling price range for the beetle ?? minus your selection of donor parts !

P.S. love the photo with the country back drop.:thumb:thumb

Grey 57 - February 24th, 2003 at 10:37 PM

Good on ya Jim. :thumb

SKEWtYpe3 - February 25th, 2003 at 10:41 AM

GO the type 3 !!!!
good buy Jim but i think the splitty, beetle and notch would be a great line up in the drive way ! :)
at least take a photo, for memories
:bounce

BenettonVW - February 25th, 2003 at 06:52 PM

really not amused... The bank, which will remain nameless, casually mentioned when checking the vehicle that it was over 20 years of age, so they cannot loan money via a secured loan...

Okay, so I got a secured loan approved... Why wouldn't I get a 'personal' loan with them? After all, I have banked with them for 12 and a half years... I a valued customer... Right?

WRONG. :cussing

Loan NOT approved. Not yet.. Feel sorry for the guy on the other end of the phone that copped the 28 minute caining...

Oh well, off to the opposition. But I haven't given up, thats for sure. Sorry Anth about messin ya round.. :(

NigeType3 - February 25th, 2003 at 07:00 PM

Stay cool brother their all in the busness of lending money you'll get it. I was in the same situation a couple of years ago, ended up geting a low interest mastercard and paid it of in a year instead of the 3 that a loan would have taken.

Bloody nice rides both of em Nige

amazer - February 26th, 2003 at 10:26 AM

they wouldnt let me borrow $100,000 for the house either. Only $99.900 becuase they only lend maximum 80% or something. As if the $100 was going to make any difference to anybody.

Banks suck though. You should join a credit union or building society. Hate it when people complain about bank fees yet stay with them.

Unity-28 - February 26th, 2003 at 11:14 AM

Jim how much for the bug?? Someone might be able to help you out by buying the bug off you!!!! What comes with it, What condition is it in ( i know it looks good in the pics, but a written desciption could help!!) Let us all know, someone might be interested!!!! Have you thought of getting a finance broker to see if they can get you the cash???

Cheers N!

BenettonVW - February 26th, 2003 at 06:05 PM

Well, the motor currently needs attention. In fact, I think it has dropped a valve, so it could be sold as it sits or repaired.

Some accessories would be removed, but not all. Very similar to the pics all the same.

Look, I'll be honest. The body isn't fantastic, but there isn't a spot or rust in the thing, which is getting harder and harder to find these days. Well think about it.. If it wasn't for this Notch coming up, I wouldn't be selling it, and even if I buy the Notch, I STILL am not 100% about it, but hey, if a half decent offer arose...

I am pretty flexible as to how the car is sold. Can be at current ride height, with adjustable front beam, or beam removed and a stock beam insert and therefore stock ride height.

Whitewalls, 135's/ 165's included. Bug Deflector, cheese grater, decklid standoffs, 100,000 kms badge, 200,000kms badge, EMPI body stripe over the body, mesh visor, EMPI glovebox pull, amber foglight, eyelids, EMPI 'caution' sticker, Kilometres/ Miles sticker for speedo, EMPI finger protectors(both door handles and bonnet handle), Seatbelt pads, EMPI Antenna Ball, Blue dot tail lights, E-Z-Dimmer dimmer pedal, D Sticker, EMPI keyring, Clear indicator lenses with blue globes, etc..

Open to decent offers really. EMail me or U2U me.

OvalGlen - February 26th, 2003 at 08:42 PM

practicality means only one top ride at moment, just that we have been so used to
Jim - Blue Beetle.
Notch is unreal, good luck with finance.

SKEWtYpe3 - February 27th, 2003 at 12:03 AM

66kombi - March 9th, 2003 at 02:12 PM

What sought of white walls are on that beetle....gee they look sweet....how much ??? if that is not too rude

Ben:jesus

BenettonVW - March 9th, 2003 at 07:21 PM

Hey Ben, and welcome to the Aussie Vee Dubbers forum.

The whitewalls are what they call inserts, and sit in between the rim and the tyre, so when the tyre is inflated, the whitewall is held there. These particular ones are called Atlas whitewalls, and the length of them is approx 40mm. There are various brands though..

kustomkool - March 10th, 2003 at 10:31 AM

Just a little question Jim,are you going to make any changes to Nelly ie;some strips with Empi logo or just keep her as she is.maybe you could chuck some Rostyles what you got install.doesnt matter what you do you scored one of the most famous Ozlookers shes on every good type3 site so shes well out there.WELL DONE welcome to the world of type 3s.

BenettonVW - March 11th, 2003 at 08:16 PM

Probably not the stripes again.. Still go the restocal look, and transfer accessories/ start collecting more accessories for the Notch now..
