Anyone know what the story is with the new club registration scheme? I keep seeing new number plates with Historic Vehicle on?

firstly xxx-1.8T may qualify for vintage rego in about 2020 so I would not worry yet the euro plates will do till then.
Club(vintage) rego is only for vehicles that are 30 years old or more & not daily drivers ,must be a member of a club & road worthy which some clubs have different interperation of & by the RTA rules must be logged out for use and carry a log book & or copy of calander of club & or CMC calander. Short distance service runs are permitted with the approval of the club.

My beetle is a 66 so its older than 30 years, as for being a daily driver it gets driven 3 - 4 days a week is that a daily driver?

No its not a secret its just you have to belong to the Car club first before you can qualify for club redgo.

Its not available any other way, in NSW at least

Club meetings are on 3rd thursday of each month at the Greyhound Club on rookwood road Yagoona. starting around 8.00 pm

As I said previously Vintage rego can only be used on Club runs or special days as listed in the CMC calendar. Vintage rego is strict and getting harder as more people try to cheat the system.

The main part of meeting usually finishes around 9.30 or so depending on if we have a guest speaker or not....

Last month Barry Fergerson came along for a talk.

Most of us usually stay n have a few more beers n chat... the club shuts at 11 or so.

that should be "a car club" not "the car club".

Just so people know that many clubs offer club rego. Some clubs even read the rules and get advice. DO NOT believe those who say the car has to be stock! IT DOESN'T.

By the way, if you have 3 club runs a week, you can drive it three times a week! Now there's an incentive for club members to get together.
