You are Correct.....

Its just the brand of German Glass used in Volkswagens...

I don't think there is any Real Extra value to it.....

It just depends on whether You like seeing the 2 Kangaroos & VW Logo or Securit on Your glass....

and means that Your car was Fully Imported or
Completely Knocked Down or Fully manufactered in Australia....

thats basically it. some get real fastidius and want it all the way it rolled of the factory floor. but then finding sekurit glass that is still with outa mark to match the rest of a resto, well then you have value possibly as the freaks will want it for the show queens. i have a batch of used sekurit and others in the shed for when i break a glass on a splitta. but its jsut the fact it has been whats available when i ve picked it up, and really i wouldnt give a toss what it was.

i heard somwhere along the lines sekurit stopped doing VW glass.. i dont know if this is true and then they started again... as all the late model VW, merc, BMW audi etc at work all have sekurit glass still

i got the oppurtunity to pick up some oval sekurit glass, so i was wondering if its worth paying more dollars than the no brand glass, i like OG stuff and all that but not sure if it mattered wen it came to the window glass.

it'd be nice to have i reckon, oval parts only get rarer

Both my bugs have "armourguard" glass, not sekurit. They appear to be original glass as well. One is a '63 which is Oz made, and the other is a 58-60

my oval (57) has all "armourplate" glass which all looks original, so what gives? Maybe only the 54 models had sekurit.
