Google earth.

Has any one downloaded the Google Earth Program?. It is fantastic,
It is a program that lets you look at the earth through satelite photos, some are so detailed you can see cars on the streets. I can see my house.
It is best with Broard band as it uses a lot of those giggerwhatsits, but worth a look.

Yeah the resolution varies in many locations. Anyone notice that the Fremantle naval base thing on that island whateveritscalled is higher res' than all the surroundings...? Hehe, who's spying hey? Melbourne's crap, and ... surprise ... cloudy.

Also, the ages of the shots vary a lot: the Bolte bridge in Melbourne is under construction I think, but NY hasn't got two big towers anymore.

Wicked program hey!

This is Carlsbad Raceway near San diego in the US, it has now been closed to make way for an industrial sight.

amazer - July 21st, 2005 at 04:26 PM

Geez dave, bloody computer illit... illit... person who doesnt know how to use them. Save the whole page with print scrn then open it in paintbrush, cut out the bit you want, past it into a new piantbrush window, save it then post here! Or just download screenhunter program, thats what I do. Just draw a little square around what ou want to save and hey presto its on your desktop.

If I found myself here i'd be stuffed, I can t even get through liverpool let alone off the harbour bridge let alone this place.

whitehouse link

buzzbug - July 21st, 2005 at 06:07 PM

That worries me that you can view that sort of stuff, eg: the pentagon/white house.

Can you see military establishments on it or have they got some kind of block on it?

Lee

Menangler - July 21st, 2005 at 07:52 PM

Lee,
I can see my car park at work, so there's no block on it, there is an airstrip in the US visable, you can see jets on the run way.

The photos from the south coast were taken over christmas '03, friends of ours were camping by the river, you can see their tents!!.
