Jeez thats a nice car Alan..

As for the Jamboree, I guess that will be my first show in the new Hotty Notch..

BUGBOY - March 11th, 2003 at 08:23 PM

I`ll be there as well but I think I`ll have a truck load of late model beetle stuff to sell at the swap meet and if all goes to plan I might have the 76 on the market as well.
Change of hobby:)

Going but not sure if in Bel:jesus Dr L may be getting me there:thumb

Hmmm, having to look for a generator for Bel. Turned into my street to hear things flying around at back. Opened her up and found shims and upper pully wheel scattered in the engine bay. The bolt had sheared off at the nut:o

helbus - March 11th, 2003 at 10:23 PM

Ya know, this forum has taught me so much.
A year ago I would not have known what shims etc were on a generator!
I know I know, us bay kombi owners dont understand the ways and hardships of a 6v or a 36 horse.
But I still appreciate and enjoy the wonder of the Beetle, especially the older units (I see the hands of the oval owners going up now)
Can any one recommend a really really good history of the Beetle type book I can get Fleur for her birthday? One with original Germany pics and stuff, not an American book.

Are we talking about the Jamboree outside Brisbane which the
'Bad Little Buggers Veedub Club' won the best display last year?
If so i'll be there is it on again already.

on the topic of books, I have one called 'The origin & Evolution of the VW Beetle' by Terry Shulerit is from the US but is full of the history, old advertising brochures from gernany and the US, accessories. great if you like reading the old literature. I have attached a page hope it is readable
