Sorry to continue with me freaky theme here but heard this one tonight:jesus
Brother of my sons best mate was telling me tonight about an immaculate, original, split window beetle an old guy owned around the corner from him.
The owner was old, like 90. Ben had always said he would be interested in buying it if he ever wanted to sell.
Ben's a mechanic. The old guy took the car into him for a RWC, he had sold it to a guy in Doncaster who wanted to chop it. The car went to
Doncaster and got chopped:cry
chopped ??????
an old split bug, shame !
:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry
I couldn't believe it.
Ben can't believe such a moron exists. Obviously no idea about what he was destroying
Old man had no idea what he owned and past caring. He had looked after the car, how could you sell it to someone who wanted to hack at it.
OK if the car is not in good nick but cutting the roof off on a split window in good condition:cry:cry:cry
are you about there jenz ,that is one of those ouch stories but you would think the guy doing the chop would know better though guess what we got that
june event for albury ,i,m very happy

Hey Dave
Still about, just not as often.
Cruisin and dubbin still but
Kewl!
The design process does not end at mnufacture. Kustomisation is the best thing that can happen to a car.
Museums and restorers have ensured that some remain. The world will never run out of split windows.
If someone cuts a car they have cut it to match thier tastes. They have continued on the design process. I could think of nothing better than a split
with a 3 - 5 inch chop suicide doors dumped to the weeds and stripped out interior!
Matt
Then again - I'm the opposite.
Tub it with fibreglass, hack it front and back, cage it up and rev it hard up steep hills. But I wouldn't be choosing splits to do it with.
I'd never leave a show with out threats of being bashed and my ride firebombed.
