Hi Everyone
Sorry about the late intro, never thought of it, when I registered.
My names Rob but most people that know me call me Bert, Im 38 years old married to Jodie, we met when I was 19 and she was 15, we have 3 good kids,
and a boof headed cattle dog, we had a 64 beetle before the first child came into the world, witch I bought off the original owner, and as the family
grew we needed a bigger VW, so we bought a Kombi off the original owner as well, and added this to the beetle, we kept the beetle for a few more
years, until I moved from Sydney to Tweed heads, I sold it to the young fella next door, for $500 It was worth more, imaculate, but he was a good kid,
always helping me with it, when it needed work, and generaly hovering around it other times, his parent's were dead beats and horrible to him, so
I sold it to him for the money he saved on his mowing run, so he could have some independance. + I needed the money for the move! had the orig VW push
button radio, gearshift lock and rear louvre, makes me shudder when I see the prices these are pulling now, you would not even get the accsessorys for
that now! He still has it and looks after it so Im glad it went to a good home!
I have owned VW's for more than twenty years, and My father and grandfather both owned Split vans and beetles, so I have been around things VW
all my life, and this has continued with my kids, and hopefully theirs!

A late welcome for a late intro Rob.
How did you find us by the way?
Enjoy your stay and post on!!
found you at the Mick motors site, just followed the link!
I havent been aound the VW scene up here (Tweed) for quite a while, I get all my work done that I cant do at Stokers, and I met a bloke about 2
years ago that has some very tasty old VW's, he goes to most of the swap meets around the border area up to Bris Vagas, I started going with him,
and this rekindled my interest in shows and the like, I have been pretty active in the BMW M/C club up until now, but I wanted something that was
more Family orientated, so I joined the Gold Coast VW Club at the Dubs by the pub run, I am about half way in the resto of my 77 bus/camper, I will
post some pictures soon.
Rob........
Welcome....................
Please do we luvs the pics.
I'll have to call by when we head North next.
Welcome one and all!
Andrew
Welcome Rob.
That sale of your old beetle sounds like a very gracious act and I'm sure in time the karma will come around again when you out buying or
breaking down.
You'll love it here if you love VW's. I used to be a fanatic regular but now I have a job and can really only get in weekends and mabey a
night here and there. Can't keep up with all the posts not that I have other responsibilities so I just read the up coming events, General chat
and mabey check out the tech or pics.
Hope you enjoy your time here and might catch up with you on our way up to Agnes Water at Christmas Time.
Welcome Robo.
Word to The Bronze, that was a big thing of you to do, and its great to hear.
Shore thing Glen
Drop in and have a cup of tea, familys welcome! I can show you a couple of places the usual tourists don't get to see.
By the way that piccy wouldn't be at Bass Hill drive in would it! I used to go to all the drive in's in the Beetle we had, brings back good
memorys.
Very unusual number plate on your bus, the Queenslanders would love it, four X is potent enough but six X would blow you away!
I don't know what is going on with the U2U 's at the moment but if your passing through let me know in advance and we can arrange
something.
Rob......
